Afternoon C7,
Again for clarification and I have counted 3 imo’s amongst my morning posts but yes not one IMHO.
The vast bulk of BB posts are about opinion and even the posting of “facts” is often subjective.
Really stop twisting my words.Where I have said I was lucky to sell.I made a decision and made profit in some and lost on others.
It was a deliberate decision so how was it lucky.
I keep it very simple if I expect the SP to go up I buy if I expect it to fall I sell but I may vary the timeframe.
For the utmost time why would I want the SP to fall. You're obviously convinced I am an evil trader peddling constant bad news in the hope everyone panics and sells and then I get my low entry point.
Well others can judge whether my posts are unduly negative or merely simply to draw attention to legitimate questions that others may want to gloss over.
It does not matter it ant going to effect the SP one iota.
The facts are hardly any trades today.Ask yourself why.
If the case is so compelling why is there not a lot more interest.
I have explained in detail why I thought the SP would go down today earlier but you thought there must be a big buy in the system.
Anyway off out
I suggest you get one of your retweet groups to like, comment on your tweet, etc.
Thanks for using that "tick mark tweet" - it disappeared from my timeline / bookmarks and I could not find it last week / week before. I'll put it in my cache of scancell resource links
This is not what they said at the S&T committee meeting. My vague recollection is that the t-cell response was being pursued because the antibody response was not sufficient.
I got the impression that they had not cracked the T-Cell response.
In other news (and posted here several days ago), I saw that Uni of Notts is one of the Oxford vaccine trial centres. Scancell's partners will gain valuable insights into the progress of that trial which will pay huge dividends when their own Covid19 vaccine is ready for human trials in Q1 2021.
Hey BS, I think there has been a lot of scrutiny of the Oxford vaccine work. However at last week's S&T committee meeting, someone said that if the vaccine proved ineffective, then the manufacturing facilities would be turned over to the production of other vaccines.
I think it was Bailey that said the full business case of what I believe was a portfolio of vaccines is before The Government - it is certainly a space to watch if the intent is that the UK becomes a global vaccine research and production centre.
RE peston tweet -
Ah...i stand corrected...i think?
Your only tweet showing in my search on scancell is this one: https://twitter.com/wtp1235/status/1283351832044154880?s=20
I checked to see if you were shadow banned, it appears that your replies are not showing. The quickest way I know of so far out of that situation is for a bunch of people to like and retweet your response and / or other tweets.
Ray, I thought you have been pretty patient the last week or so TBH!!! Or maybe just too fed up to come up with any quips??
As WTP just said ""I know nothing"", well that is very true for us all in many things, let alone Governments. That being the case I find it remarkable to read what Ivy posted, constant negativity, no IMHO, and he is surprised (after telling us how lucky he was to sell) why he would want the SP down???
You couldn"t write it.
Hi Bermuda, i will have look thanks. But according to that article (yes, again) - https://www.researchprofessionalnews.com/rr-news-uk-politics-whitehall-2020-6-mystery-over-who-approved-126m-vaccine-investment/
"But funding for the university-led projects at Oxford and Imperial did not go through the usual UKRI granting mechanisms and all the departments or bodies involved in Covid-19 response have declined to answer questions about what peer review—if any—was involved in the decisions. Other vaccine efforts, including one at a spinout from University of Bristol, and another one at University of Nottingham have had no government funding for their efforts."
Are they wrong then?
irrelevant
WTP -
Just a very quick response - it is simply not true to say that there's been no appraisal of Oxford's application for funding. The earlier rounds certainly went through the rigorous UKRI assessment and review by expert panel. I haven't time to find the links but they're there if you want to find them.
That's the great thing about conspiracy theories - they know no bounds because by definition they're only theories and fact is almost irrlelevant. :)
p.s. my first comment on the peston tweet just mentioned that Nottingham/Scancell were woking on a vaccine specifically in the T-cell arena, didnt mention anything about funding...wasn't shown on his feed. Re-commented again, this time mentioned funding (and a little more insistent), again not shown. As i say, make what you will, but it fufills my conspiracy quota for the day :)
Bermuda
Leaps of a suspicious mind LOL
Hi C7
I'm probably letting impatience get the better of me.
Obviously, we are not privy to the really important bits of information that may well exist.
The 3 collaborators may think Avidimab and the Tag mABs are wonderful.
Biontech may be busy doing their side of the collaboration.
Lindy's project may be showing great results on animal testing.
Ray,
Thanks for your reply. It wasn't there when I posted my last post. I completely agree that Peston has obviously been tipped off about the paper in The Lancet and it's pretty poor. Publication of clinical trial results shouldn't be the subject of a 'scoop' or any hype and it undermines credibility of all involved IMO. Having said that, as all journalists do, Peston has spent his entire career networking and building contacts and it's a big leap to assume that the reason he was given the tip-off is that he attended Oxford decades ago.
Chelsea, I don't have a new email address. Still have the old one, just very rarely remember to check it.
Well i'll come out and say it, I think there is (IMO) complete and obvious bias towards Oxford as an institution and therefore it's vaccine. As RayP mentioned theres no way of proving this obviously however, but:
- "So" many government connections to Oxford - head of the vaccine task force for one
- The balance/sharing of funds
- The sudden lack of urgency to find alternatives to Oxfords and Imperials approches
And i keep going back to this article as it sums up everyhing IMO:
https://www.researchprofessionalnews.com/rr-news-uk-politics-whitehall-2020-6-mystery-over-who-approved-126m-vaccine-investment/
Not a ounce of apprasial or assemessment - just "here's x million oxford & imperial, do as you please". Where every other institution had to apply and be assessed. That might be an over-simplification but you get what I mean.
But most of all my reason for doubting the impartiality of it is that we've seen just how corrupt/bias the goverment is in terms of handing out contracts, just have a look at how many organisations with links to cummings have won government contracts:
https://www.crowdjustice.com/case/a-river-to-my-people/
So i find it hard to believe there is no bias here...but again all IMO. And as I always say...I know nothing.
p.s. @Bermuda, glad to hear you havent blocked me though!
Considering Robert Peston's relationship with the government I would doubt he has any loyalty to anyone involved in the Oxford project, and given the nature of his journalism he's as likely to be setting them up for a fall if he can, rather than having an eye on ultimate success.
Ray,
When no news is good news................COVIDITY and AMPLIVAB feature highly on my list of possible good news items in the very near future. We certainly haven"t heard news to the contrary, and both news items could be game changers until we can get definitive news on the SCIB1 Combo trial, and in AVIDAMABs case obviously negate any neeed for a dilutive funding.
Bermuda, no need to answer here, there are a few things I wanted to discuss.
Not sure I have your newer e-mail address, if you want mail me.
WTP - nope haven't filtered you. Genuinely like to listen to all views with an open mind. I hear the words 'conspiracy theory' but wondering how Robert Peston and that article in particular fits into it. Are we saying that anything from Oxford and anything connected with the vax is somehow suspect now? I'm surprised because the article was about the results of the clinical trial, not funding and I'm certain that the majority of the population would read any article about encouraging results from ANY vaccine and see it as positive and offering some hope.
Inanaco - yes I saw your post yesterday about me 'explaining myself' Since you've kindly gone to the trouble of looking back and quoting my post to Chelsea, you can see I didn't say I would explain myself, I said I would answer his post to me. I still will if necessary.
Bermuda
I do think there is possible bias towards certain universities.
But it's something that is impossible to prove one way or another. Just a thought that goes through my mind when the key decision makers are all Oxford graduates.
In this particular case it looks like Robert Peston has been tipped off about results to be published tomorrow.
It does seem strange to me that Lindy's project appears not to have been funded thus far.
When do you think Lindy's project will receive funding?
Dick has had his posts removed ... he must be sailing a bit to close to the wind

Chelsea,
I'm out and about at the moment, taking one of the kids to an appointment. Just wanted to quickly say that my post wasn't aimed at anyone in particular. We are where we are and I'm certain that we actually all want the same outcome. Will reply fully when I get back.
Missing ........... "the reply"
polite reminder
I have a feeling Bermuda has filtered me??
Ray,
Of course they should, but it was a genuine question. You've read something vaguely positive about the Oxford vaccine and immediately gone to the trouble of googling to see which university the author attended and immediately posting here. I'm baffled - what exactly are you concerned about? Are you saying that Peston's article is biased? That it's incorrect? What exactly?
I think people should be free to make up their own minds whether or not there is bias towards certain universities in allocating research cash.
