I was not critical of Knowlesi ..
RuckRover, I thought Knowlesi was being positive too. It is a shame that discussions seem not to be possible without terse replies and references to history. I will wait and see if the thread (including my post) gets taken down.
WTP,
The problem with filtering is you may get a distorted view if they are misquoted. Here is the full Knowlesi post (I thought was quite positive)
“ Not for profit - possibly in the UK but worldwide market will be available. Anyway nice problem to have - profit or not, if we can have a commercial covid product our market cap will be many many many multiples of where we are now.”
even CRUK works for a "profit" so that it can take high risk development programs
so it licenses out it discoveries and receives royalties if they come good
The Government funded programs would receive Tax revenue as a result .... if the Government demanded not for profit the cost to the taxpayer is far higher than if it didn't ....
There has to be an element of competition ... otherwise you will not get the best products .. all this left wing dogma that the Hippies come out with only achieves a state that is going backwards ... Cuba is a prime example
The Oxford Academics by the way don't work for nothing ........ They are Highly paid !!
"...Oxford Academics demanded not for profit ....
Scancell has not mentioned it so is not using that slogan as a marketing tool ...
Knowlesi is"
Yep, that sounds like classic knowelsi tactics.
Oxford Academics demanded not for profit ....
Scancell has not mentioned it so is not using that slogan as a marketing tool ...
Knowlesi is
WeTookPelham, I'm sorry but I've been here before. I think it was my fault that the question of Not for Profit started. It was in reply to a post which said the AGM would hear a lot about Covidity. I thought the replies were moderate and completely OK. I'm sorry again for having created a problem. Maybe my post will now be deleted?
Why do I get the feeling knowlesi is trying to twist the truth/twist the agenda again?
Got you filtered knowlesi because of your truth twisting/blatant agenda/making stuff up, but noticed the posts after a filtered post talking about not for profit RE Covidity.
Sounds like you're still bitter about your bazooka buy and therefore looking for any (non existent) issues. Btw....Bazooka still primed?
All (blind) IMO, obviously I could be wrong as I have no idea what you've written, but judging by the replies and knowing your modus operandi never changes...IMO.
'Not for profit' at the very least means 'no loss plus kudos' which would be a massive new step in the right direction, and at the very least it would mean a nominal profit rather than exactly cost-neutral I suspect. Millions of doses at just a pound or two nominal profit would be utterly transformational so even 'not for profit' would be fine as a worst case scenario imo.
Exactly Knowesi, just don"t believe no profit means exactly that, and not much point in guessing. The first Platform that will seriously benefit is Immunobody. Very good timing too, we hope.
Catch yer in morning
Re. 'not for profit' - perish the very thought ! No need to be so timerous. Notts Uni's will want some return and so will Scancell LTH - doesn't have to be the usual Pharma rip off - how about just 20% mark up ?
So if Covidity reaches that stage, direct profit will accrue, (just think of the potential volumes) PLUS the aura of a working Covidity will generate massive interest in Scancell's other platforms. And an Mcap of 'many many many' multiples as K posts.
All good fun. Roll on the day. GLA.
Does such a thing as ""non profit"" really exist. I have deep reservations about that??
I think it was Stakis who made a good point about the AGM taking place no later than six months after filing accounts. I am really hoping if that takes us through November, it is to give us time to complete any deals on the table, the significance is obvious and ties in nicely with our new appointment as non executive Director, whose skills can only be very beneficial to us.
Another blue day, just about, still seems odd to me to see 20k trades valued at £3k. I bet there are many of us wishing we loaded up more around 6p!! Would sure be good to see us break resistance points 1 and 2.
Just been reading up on the Johnson & Johnson Covid trial, now seeking 60k patients for a Phase 3 trial, seems to ask many more questions than provide answers and in my occasional forays into media and TV news finding it hard to feel much confidence in any particular trials so far. Is that just me??
Thanks Ray Pointer. As you say there is a need for information on all aspects of Scancell's business. This is part of the aim of an AGM I believe.
Hence my comment about the company's platforms as a whole.
The question of Not For Profit is significant.
Thanks for your response.
Evening LL,
No we normally rely on a recording by one of attendees such as Botski. They may put the slides on the website but I always found the questions the best bit.
Really interesting discussion on radio talking about cancer immunotherapy and making point that 30-40% of patients respond well to various treatments but why do some do this and others don’t.
They found that one of the common features is having a healthy gut and good microbic and gut bacteria balance.
This does have a big dietary influence and ties in with your post.In fact there is one AIM Company doing a lot if research in this area.
ATB
Do they publish transcripts/minutes for AGMs? I'd be keen to see what was recorded.
Oh, lets not forget the BionTech collaboration.
Last AGM Lindy said something about timescales but nobody managed to catch what she said.
It may be that Scancell have now done their part and the ball is in Biontech's court for evaluation.
Evening AB
I'm not sure whether Scancell have said whether Covidity is on a not-for -profit basis. So yes, it would be useful if we had that info if a decision has been made.
The AGM normally follows the following pattern
a) John Chiplin (chairman) kicks off with resolutions
b) Cliff (CEO) then gives a summary of all projects, collaborations, deals (we hope) and finance
c) Sally Adams (development director) then gives details of development which will probably be centred on Modi1, SCIB1 combo and maybe info on SCIB2 combo
d) Lindy then gives a presentation on the latest research and I expect her to concentrate on Covidity but we may get an update on Modi2
e) Q and A - a certain poster from advfn may have a word or two and this may waste time
f) Virtual tea and coffee
Actually just realised the year end is 30th April and they have 6 months to file the accounts from y/e so it could be 4 weeks yet before we hear anything.
I note last years AGM was 12th September with the notice going out on 20th August so we are already 5/6 weeks behind last years. Granted there has been a lot more going on this year bit we should be hearing something very soon I would think.
Ray Pointer. I think I would like the emphasis to be on our three platforms which we hope will be moving forward this year and next. Covidity is important but would Scancell be making any money from it? Are we in it on a no profit basis?
I would imagine that Lindy's main topic will be Covidity.
Yes, and you always get more detail at the AGM, especially from Sally and Lindy.
This year Cliff's summary may also be of interest.
Looking forward to the RNS to advise AGM date, and all the updates which will need to be reported prior too
