Wille: would the b52 contract have a deposit clause in it I wonder ?
Yes, the B52 contract coming home would be a game changer for RR. ITP sale is not guaranteed of course and is the only uncertainty that makes me nervous as it would reopen the whole topic of whether RR have adequate funds. Whatever happens, will be an exciting month for Rolls!
10 billion USD!
The Commercial Engine Replacement Program
Under the CERP, USAF is looking to replace all eight engines in at least 76 B-52 bombers. The program seeks a total of 608 power plants and additional spares.
The air force is looking to prolong the life of the B-52 system with the new engines, until at least 2050.
The program, according to analysts, could incur up to $10 billion in costs, but may eventually pay for itself due to the maintenance and repairs that it will help the force avoid in the long run
There are very many US contracts awarded to RR out there !! https://www.reuters.com/article/us-rolls-royce-hldg-pentagon-idUSKBN1JT2U0
I beg to differ!
Rolls-Royce has secured a five-year MissionCare® contract valued at $1.2 Billion to maintain AE 1107C engines on U.S. Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force V-22 aircraft.
Rolls-Royce has delivered nearly 1,000 AE 1107C engines to power the fleet of V-22 aircraft in operation around the world. The total fleet of more than 375 MV-22s and CV-22s in service recently topped 500,000 flight hours – or 1 million engine hours on the twin-engine aircraft.

Grezzz: the article was dated September 2020!!! A hell of a lot has been invested in RR since then! I remain quietly confident!! As always imho dyor etc
UQ
I'd like to think it was purely based on merit, but where USA is concerned, especially military matters, they hate even a whiff of foreign involvement.
So, If RR gets this contract there should be a nice bounce to the SP?

That’s your opinion… not mine! RR all the way! ;)
Sadly, I tend to agree with this sentiment:

We've got a new USA factory, we've got the thrust, we've got the fuel saving needed, we've got a proven engine, and its also being used right now in all across the US Armed forces. Looking good to me but dyor
Looking very positive!
That’s a great question! I wish I knew .. all I do know is imho they stand as much chance as the others! In addition they have just upgraded a facility here in the USA by spending 600 million USD to manufacture these types of engines! As always it’s imho dyor before investing! Good luck
Could be worth up to $11 billon according to the bera government website
Do you think RR. will get it or lose out?
worth not with.
The contract is with billions!!!
