dannyboy, thank you for sharing that. Very much appreciated.
cheers
Can you send me the link for amazon please
Hi Kainos,
I raised the question with both Virion and Magnesium and the latter responded as follows:
“It is 7hrs minimum although on the Pro-Larva official website it actually says “up to 7hrs“ and “7hrs+”
The clock starts ticking when the mask is on the face and eventually the nano cooperites are overwhelmed with moisture from breath, and lose their ability to kill the virus. It is 7hrs minimum wearing, so if it comes off, the clock stops ticking.
Opening a pack of 10 does not start the clock as the moisture in the air has little effect on the mask.
We cannot change any claims on out website that P2F make, especially clinical data.
Thanks for your email and glad to help.
Best Regards”
On a separate note, it appears as though the masks have been creeping up Amazon’s best sellers ratings recently - 828th now from over 2000th a weeks or so ago. Hopefully there will be an update soon.
Hi Kainos, no problem, I expected someone would jump in with both feet! But thank you for the apology, I appreciate it.
I haven't sent them to my dad yet, they're sat on my desk at the minute, going to print off some info to go with them and stick them in the post tomorrow.
For what it's worth I followed my post here on Friday with an email to P2F along the same lines. If they get back to me I'll post the reply.
Jonny - lastly - sorry meant to ask
How did your Father get on with the masks you sent ?
I find them very comfortable and easy to use and they don't steam up my Vari-focals !
Its a great Q / chat point tho.
I think some time ago there was a decent LOL discussion regarding filtration and Cu nano filtration - limits and potential uses.
A few concluded that its impractical (for now) in closed forced air systems - eg Jumbo Jets - due to H and S regulations (which may well need a very rapid review and risk assessment overhaul).
Operating Theaters - remember the anti virion is also effective against microbial as well as Virus - would seem a useful addition to VOLZ portfolio.
Interesting opportunities ahead - as alluded to by Mr Legge
Hopefully
JonnyMango
Apologies
Investor v Troll Fatigue
My take after using the masks is that there is a minimum virus killing action of 7 hours - certified and independantly verified.
Once a pack of 10 out the bag - same efficacy as long as not worn or handled.
There must be a limit an opened bag of masks lasts in terms of virucidal action - but even with Cu / oxidation I would imagine that's quite some time...
Over to P2F Investor relations / TECH dept.. :)

Thanks Callit, yes, that was my thinking about why not test for longer, as we were all getting excited about alternative applications in air con and aeroplane filters surely the company would want to be able to sell it as effective for as long as possible in those applications.
I completely understand that 7hrs meets the requirements for the medical certification and a substantial length of time for a single mask to be worn continuously in that environment.
LuckyBob, thanks, much appreciated.
It comes down to how long does it take copper to oxidise and under what conditions cause it.
Also how much does the oxidisation reduce the efficacy of the mask.
For it to oxidise it takes exposure to oxygen and water, so you need to be breathing through it for the to occur.
Oxidisation does happen in normal environment but indoors it could take months or years to happen depending on your relative humidity levels.
I would suggest if it were a concern they would of individually wrapped them.
Also as far as the test for 7 hours goes that got more to do with the conditions the virus can survive naturally without interference from foreign elements, so 7 hours could be well under the actual effective period.
@JonnyMango I know what you mean. I have previously asked them too to test the longer term properties of the material. Mostly to see if it can be used in other applications.
Obviously if the anti-viral effect did last significantly more than 7 hours then people would just buy 1 and never re-order. I'm not sure a longer life beyond 1 day is that much of an advantage for the disposable mask sales.
@Supremespod, yes I know that's the reason for the 7hr number, I mentioned that myself. What I wonder with regard to that is whether or not they could have repeatedly tested the same mask to determine a maximum length of effectiveness?
@Kainos, I'm no scientist, hence asking my reasonable question, but cheers anyway.
Hi JonnyMango
I am really sorry to read / hear about your Father.
But appreciate you managed to hold it together - enough to keep you safe and well with your investment.
If I may - When you open a packet of crisps - They may go stale?
What is your opinion - on an elemental particle - say CU - going stale ?
In Short - stop being silly about opening packs of Pro Larva Virus Killing masks - IMO
What say you?
Hello folks, I've not been on this board for a couple of weeks, as luckily for me I sold as we drifted down to my average at 2.6p shortly before we got hammered. Pure luck in frustration leading to me deciding for once to protect my capital at that moment in time. So please don't now assume I am being unduly negative with my forthcoming question.. I still look at the sp, still talk about the product, I still want this to succeed and find it astonishing that the sp is still where it is, and I just received a pack of masks that I ordered to send to my dad who has blood cancer and kidney damage and is rightly still worried despite being vaccinated.
Which is why my question is this.. the masks are tested to be effective for 7 hrs (because that's as long as they can be tested for), but what do we know about the effective shelf life once a packet of 10 that aren't individually wrapped has been opened?
Once that packet has been opened is the clock ticking on the effectiveness of all of them?
I guess I had assumed they would be individually packed in a sterile environment and once opened you've got 7 hrs (or more) of tested virucidal effectiveness.
I'm asking because I want to be confident sending these to my dad to help him become happier to leave the house, and because a friend I have been talking about these to for ages ordered some as well, and I have a feeling he will ask me the same question!
cheers
@jonnymango - the 7 hour duration was a test of continuous use, it passed that test. The test stopped at the 7 hour mark because of the test, not because of the efficacy of the mask. Nobody has published results regarding the maximum efficacy of the mask.
Peterpaz, thanks, it does to an extent., but does still leave me with some uncertainty.
I guess my fear and the thought to only ask this question now comes from being about to advocate its use by my vulnerable dad!
Could you explain it in seconds & minutes please? What if I only used it for 30 seconds when I nipped into see the wife, what would happen then??? Enjoy your weekend guys....
The seven hours start from when you wear the mask...
Wear it for 3 hours one day, then 4 hours another day and it'll work just as well.... So no, doesn't matter if you open the packet. Its about how you've breathed in them that sets the countdown to effectiveness. And as you sat Jonny, 7 hours was a 'benchmark' due to the machines restrictions, so they could last for a lot longer.
Hope that explained it.
