Just as background info. All official revision activity has been stopped until the CWU and RM agree terms. All reps have been told to walk away from and not engage in any table top revisions. Without CWU involvement and sign off nothing changes. No office rep with any sense is going to agree to any revision until the new year at the earliest and in any case it will be dependent on the Covid 19 situation as training up will be virtually impossible without 2 in a van.
My First time delivery apalling today , Specials and Tracked with no answer and no time to knock at neighbours .
No recruitment and we've several vacancies..
Why do people go out when they've 3 Tracked parcels and a SD parcel being delivered that morning
Told the same at my office ..we should know whats happening by October
Morning, parcel volumes are still high in my DO, not as high as in the lockdown but still unseasonably high. Especially considering the amount of people that seem to be on holidays. I hardly ever take anything back but can't speak more generally. A respected colleague told me last week that the modernisation plans had accelerated due to the pandemic/back's departure, and have put us where we would have been in 5 years time. A whole office revision is underway based on PDA actuals at our DO, I would assume this is countrywide, although we are one of the First Phase DO's. Changes are afoot, although on a note of caution, I have heard that before, however I think they may mean it this time.

Hermes sold for £1bn and it only had earnings of £40m. This has £2bn of property assets alone, not sure why the analyst community has a £1 average price on this. They are just thinking short term.
No , I will only get back in at around £1.60. I still have all my free shares and I'm in the employee share scheme and I made 4k on these with election result rise so I'm more than happy with all that.
Yes, God long term share, but difficult at moment to gauge entry point. I'm in share scheme but that is small stuff really.
MrNation, I think that your prediction of £2.50 following the announcement of a positive deal with the CWU is a little high but not unreasonable, however to get back to the dizzy heights of £6+ RM will need to become more efficient with their parcels automation (currently a work in progress over the next 5 years), the worldwide coronavirus pandemic needs to be under control and the economy needs to pick itself up as the UK GDP for the 2nd quarter has fallen by 20.4% and the UK is entering a massive recession.
About 7 years,
I agree with that some employees are useless but you are always on the negative side of things .
Plenty of good workers out there
The public may not care about you in Wolverhampton but they do in most offices. That's why millions of people put pictures in windows thanking posties , and loads came in to delivery offices with cards, cakes ,sweets etc to say thank you. The Tory Government has already had to relationalise on the railways, and like I said , if royal mail failed it would be the end of the Tories. As for E mail, I didn't know you could send a parcel by E mail. Large swathes of Britain still aren't covered by couriers, and many remote areas that are have to pay more. As for your constant gripes about workers and bad management. You have been told many times what to do about it on here, by going higher up the company but seem incapable of doing it. You would rather spout off on an investment forum.
Wolves, I will concede that RM have had decades of promoting some pretty useless OPGs into management but that's probably because the posties that could have done a good job as a manager didn't want the grief.
Of course there are plenty of choices for the public to post their parcels and from reading the last page of posts it would appear that RM are way down the list of good, value for money couriers so why is it that our buildings have been packed to the rafters with parcels for the last 6 months when they could have used Amazon or DPD or Herpes or UPS who are clearly more efficient and cheaper?
merlin... if you not on your ass then i would hold
oli if you read back in my posts i cashed out even ,,,,,,,,,,,,some months ago.... i did buy back in and seeing some serious profit at present.... all as an employee i want to see is fairness to all....you cannot defend the indefensible and that includes the managers thats took the money and got the easy life.........but then most managers are failed posties so what do we expect????
wolvesposty you are correct there are plenty of choices for parcel delivery and often at better value especially once the parcel is larger than a small parcel . Although RM gained some extra business from me since Hermes put the price of their up to 1kilo signed for up to £4.52 . Although RM is soon going to put their overseas prices up and the parcel rate to the US has already skyrocketed although I am not sure if that is due to covid or the US pulling out of the pricing agreement ? . I can see alot of companies including RM useing Covid as an excuse to really hike prices . I have held RM shares from day one and added over the years and I enjoyed the good dividends as they helped make up for the low share price but now I am just waiting for a bit more of a rise then happy to take a loss .
oli i said royal mail hold the cards now....
ned can i ask you one simple question? if you run a company and 20% was costing you money. what would you do???????????????? answer on the back of a stamp
ned not doom and gloom but a realist mate.... wheat needs sorting from the chaff and the wheat paid more
oli was a joke.. cumon behave
OLI BLOCK CAPS WAS A TYPO MATE...LOL
And you Wolves. Onwards and upwards hopefully.
Wolvesposty your a bit of a doom and gloom merchant .
Cheer up a little and watch the price rise once a deal is done
Wolves, you may not believe that "for us mere workers we do not hold the cards" but there are 89,999 OPG grades that do believe that they hold the cards to their future as was proven earlier in the year.
Also posting in block capitals says to me that you either enjoy being antagonist or that you are balls deep in this share at a high average and now panicking? I may be wrong but you do like to post quite a lot of unnecessarily confrontational messages.
look some on here think i come to try and wind some people up....beleive me i do not..... i say it as it is.... royal mail have now realised the game is up....20% managers gone and not a day too soon in my opinion..... cwu staff next and a 10% reduction in my honest opinion will happen...... falkland used to say 175sp next year dyor... we all goaded him....well goad me now....at least 10% reduction in employees by 2021... and if not adapted or endorsed. then 20% by 2022....i will leave it there....DYOR
dynamo you quote"Wolves posty. Do you really think they would sack us all and rehire on worse terms. Your living in cuckoo land. We aren't BA , you forget one massive thing, the general public would go mad and Royal Mail through a lengthy strike would go bust . Government would force Royal Mail board to sort it out or tell them it would be renationalised. A government allowing the collapse of Royal Mail to happen would be an EX government very quickly. Millions of people and businesses still rely on Royal Mail every day because there is and never will be an alternative." WE HAVE ALTERNATIVES..... ITS CALLED EMAIL... MOBILE PHONE AND HERMES,AMAZON,DHL. ETC ETC....WAKE UP MAN....
