Cheers Dumbpunter, I've had no intetest in rocks and minerals since primary school. My other three shares are in o & g so everything mining and ree related is a step learning curb.
Forrest, I'm from Stoke, unfortunately we were at the back of the queue for natural positivity and optimism, every silver lining has a dark thunder cloud. Good to hear, if there was an alternative it would have been found by now I suppose.
Nice jump today despite prices on the Shanghai Metal Market being flat for a change..Wonder how long it will be before Sleepy Joe does something to mug the Chinese off big time and prices go through the roof. Mark my words, he'll be a mega interfering busybody on the world stage, like a scorpion he'll have to sting....
Nicodemus. I think you've been watching too much TV. I watched a film produced in 1955 called "Timeslip" lastnight. It was all about man's ability to manufacture Tungsten metal. Happily, science fact is still light years away from science fiction in the rare earths game.
I'm confused Dumb Punter. I'm in the Shanghai Metal Market app at the moment.
I can't find anything relevant to ourselves quoted in kg, it is all in tonnes.
Prices quoted minimum i.e. bottom of spread
RE Carbonate $4600 mt
NdPr Oxide $84,000 mt
Nd Oxide $105,000 mt
Pr Oxide $74,000 mt
NdPr Alloy $103,000 mt
Nd Metal $125,000 mt
Pr Metal $95,000 mt
Either way though, these prices are only going in one direction. My only concern is that some bespectacled boffin in a white lab coat with a brain the size of a barrage balloon will discover an alternative way of producing super strong permanent magnets..there must be a good few working on it as I type..
Useful work DP. Yes $6-7/t looks far more like it than my 4.8 from that spot price. 20 will come to RBW in time but not now.
Indeed when Rainbow get to production with Plalaborwa and Gakara I'm more certain by the day that they will earn far more per tonne of carbonate than 20.
I'll flesh out the drivers that I'm now convinced will this year send Nd above 200 and why it will have to stay there for some time - well into RBW becoming a full producer.
Cheers.
Nico

Neodymium up yet again. For some reason I can't convert to USD from.Chinese Yuan today on metal.com after recommending the site for ease of that very of purpose.
Maths not my strongest point so forgive me if I'm wrong but looks like it is up a whopping 7%. Why we haven't smashed and held above 25p is a mystery..???
Dumbpunter
Thanks for the calculation RB
You're not as dumb as you look Dumb :-)) well done, keep on with the research, and on a quick viewing it looks like we can at least treble our return and are( at Gokara) doubling our volume pretty quickly. Cerium is classed as waste because the Chinese are swimming in it and sell it themselves.so if/when we supply elsewhere maybe the Cerium will have a value.T I also think that as we move into a larger volume and are seen as a more serious player who has other options our offered prices will increase Thank you for your info /calcs f29

Further digging in to China RE pricings there is spot pricing for Mixed RE Carbonate Concentrate:
https://www.metal.com/Concentrate/201102250378
This is what Rainbow's Gakara project sells into China via TyssenKrupp. Rainbow advise this is around a 70% discount to the market values of the contained NdPr oxides in the mixed RE concentrate. See p16 of December presentation:
https://rainbowrareearths.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/2020-12-Rainbow-presentation-RS.pdf
There they state they were then getting $3150/t for Gakara concentrate, the spot price has now gone up to $4804.56/t. Gakara is now moving to 100t/m concentrate production. The 23/2/21 feasibility study RNS is targeting 10kt/y of carbonate production. I would anticipate that if there are more separation plants in the West then they will pay much higher than China is willing to.
Alright Topsharepicks
I prefer SMM Shanghai Metal Market metal.com to others I've used, pretty idiot proof as long as you can rotate a Smartphone and you can easily switch to $ USD

Surprised this has dropped today. Ndpr prices going nuts and PRE flying today. Chinasyn does a daily update on the Pensana board on hot copper. https://hotcopper.com.au/threads/rare-earth-pricing-shanghai-and-new-york.5763522/
Need to find some extra cash for the dropportunity here pronto.
Current news flow in REE is just incredible.
