scart - the only people its affecting is us / traders
The people buying the tests will know the truth.
Its just so much noise
As others have said the article isn’t actually that bad - sensationalism headline but the article is mostly about lack of testing, not about NCYT
companies frequently issue an rns to correct media inaccuracy
WHY ARE PEOPLE BLAMING NOVACYT !!
Mr Neophytou said: ‘Even if we delivered ten times the number of kits to the Government, the limiting factor is still capacity of testing and that comes more and more under strain if laboratory staff go into self-isolation.
‘A huge lab could also be brought below capacity if you do not have the consumables and instruments you need to run the tests.
‘We are supplying 21 hospitals in the UK. Some of those serve other hospitals across the country. Some do not have the internal capacity to do these tests.
‘So the number of testing kits is not truly representative of what the actual testing capacity of the country is at the moment.’
Novacyt said it is currently supplying 21 NHS hospitals with Covid-19 tests, which are processed by experts in labs.
It is in discussions with PHE about providing more tests, Mr Neophytou said. However, orders for its kit – which can return TEST RESULTS IN 2 HOURS - HAVE SURGED INTERNATIONALLY, with regulators in the US, Argentina, the Philippines and Indonesia all fast-tracking the product for use by medical professionals.
All of the comments are based on the poor logistics. Where the sites have been placed, nothing down to the accuracy of testing.....
So the ball is firmly in the Govs court.
No drama.
It could just be mentioned alongside to the massive news of big sales and new avenues etc :-D
Trouble is everyone doesn't know it's a trash paper. I don't necessarily mean directly to the newspaper, but I think they need to put an RNS out soon that at least clarifies their position and confirms their tests aren't contaminated etc. etc. Otherwise there's an element of doubt cast that doesn't get answered. If other papers decide to run a similar story too then the issue will be compounded
I agree. Poor journalism. A firm rebuff is an option for graham. Don't give up that potential knighthood too easily graham!
I think they should respond to a misleading narrative in a national newspaper!
Just read the Daily Mail article and was immediate thoughts were that it would impact negatively on the SP. so much positive here that poor journalism can destroy, or as below, maybe it was clever journalism!
Yeh, no need to respond.
Why give the Dailymail that level of respect. Everybody knows it is a trash paper that goes after clicks rather than investigative journalism.
No they don't need to respond.
They need to make tests, and ensure that the tests remain accurate against all known samples
Daily mail very good at putting crap out which could harm a company, remember them doing the same with sxx,if i did not know better,it would be like they had a motive, anyone would think they were a tory rag:-)
It’s the blame game the Daily Mail won’t attack the government so they blame the one company that could save millions of lives. Unlike Johnson and his health advisers who’ve played this so badly. Bunch of amateurs.
Agree scart certainly giving a slight negative impression. needs clarifying.
NCYT need to respond to that article, it's poorly written and as well as suggesting they don't have the capabilities it also makes it sound as though their tests are the ones that were infected with Covid-19. Really bad journalism
Make that 9% bit of a shake over there
Looks like the frogs are jumping over the cliff again -5% start
Absolute lies from the government, on BBC keeps deflecting testing and talking about Ventilators.
This incompetent Government is doing all it can to deflect the blame for their lack of action on testing as the body count mounts, dont believe a word.
2.22 in Paris
Lack of chemical to supply test kits ?
Due to lack of protective equipment planning from the government some Trusts have advised nurses to 'shut their eyes' when patients cough. They chose not to join the EU's ventilator procurement scheme despite being magnanimously invited to do so by the EU, coming up with some ludicrous administrative excuse when we all know it was for ideological reasons. I won't go into Dominic Cummings comments again when against WHO advice the herd theory was to let it run rife without the testing that proved so successful in S. Korea. Absolute deadly incompetence.
