With respect to the export of 40,000 Primerdesign test kits to Egypt:
Newspapers tell us that there is still a shortage of PPE in UK hospitals and care homes.
It would not surprise me to see further test kits exported to Egypt, in exchange for the manufacture of more PPE for UK.
I don't see why a one-off export of 40,000 kits would be the end of the agreement, especially if we see a second spike in C19 diagnosis in both countries.
Novacyt/Primerdesign gold standard Still ramping up production, Still selling all its got. Still the only one of the uk firms Who accredited, Still The only one making real money, just the 90 million yes just the 90 million sales almost a month ago . New faster tests imminent. Cash surplus already. American oem as yet to show its hand and yet some are walking away!!!!! Crack on if that's what you want to do , gold standard solid gold investment. No ramp all fact good luck all investors. No ifs buts maybes hear it's happening, mr Mullis and his team are making it happen. Feel better now :).
On the 20/05/20 the Egyptian government announced they were scaling up testing and making test's available in all 320 of their general hospital's.

"I’m questioning the Egypt order, not that we’re selling all capacity."
Well if you are of the opinion that we are selling capacity, the argument about this one order is pretty mute.
3.84 million***
Awaiting the next sales update with great anticipation. It feels to me like the first time sale increases haven't been priced in already and so good news could really be impactful share price wise.
Anders, hopefully you're already convinced by now that it's HIGHLY unlikely the 40000 kits are in fact tests and are rest assured that the deal is as big as everyone else thinks. As of two weeks ago Egypt had carried out 105000 PCR tests, with that number then increasing rapidly and Egypt pleading for access to more tests. It would seem mad in that situation for Egypt to order in just 40000 tests with the support of the World Health Organisation.
It's without doubt 3.96 million.
Q18 - Do you recall a company selling the big test kits that Chas mentions within this thread of 1536? I think it was Roche but I may be wrong..?
Anders this is a mute questions, you would appear to be in the minority, either way Graham will undoubtedly be too busy to clarify deal when we will be getting 10m test sales update within next 2>8 days.
The government were given some of that wording by Novacyt, can't see Novacyt mixing up test and test kits. Either way 10m monthly sales coming very soon.....
Anders I’m really not sure what’s so difficult to understand here? The government release says kits, we sell kits. In each kit is 96 tests. 3.8m tests to address a 102m population is sensible, 40,000 is pathetic and wouldn’t last a couple of days.
I’m questioning the Egypt order, not that we’re selling all capacity.
If you are arguing about this one order, I assumed that means you aren't confident they are selling near production capacity?
VanV, you have Graham’s ear on email, why don’t you ask him if it’s 40,000 tests or kits?

Ffs - 40,000 test KITS !!!!
Does anyone have a link to a sales page so we can answer. I did have a but can't locate. We sell kits not tests.
40,000 order, is this really significant enough for Government to shout about and sign a trade deal on back of?
No, we'll find out by month end/early June as part of our £90m monthly run rate
OK let us sort this out!
As I was going to Egypt,
I met a man with seven wives,
Each wife had seven sacks,
Each sack had 816 kits,
Each kit had 96 tests:
Kits, tests, sacks, and wives,
How many were there going to Egypt?
Answer 40000 x 96 = 3.86 million
As mentioned in Results RNS ...
" High throughput COVID-19 tests will be available in bulk format with each kit containing 1,536 tests for use in 384 well format instead of the smaller 96 well plate format. This product will be very helpful for large high-throughput clinical laboratories and will launch in June 2020. "
What if Egypt bought 40,000 kits x 1,536 tests = 61,440,000.
Wonder if these are still in £8.70 - £9.00 price range?
So do we !
We’ll see in the next sales update, I hope you’re right.
Egypt has a population of 98 Million. UK 66million. UK is doing over 100,000 tests per day.
40,000 tests only for Egypt is a drop in the ocean. It says KITS...got to be kits.
Handyman got there first
Generally these sort of lab products are sold in kits and would expect it to be a multiple of the testing plate ie 96 or whatever. Strongly think it is kits that are sold, not individual tests.
Plus the divisory numbers wouldn’t stack up
If there’s 96 tests in a test kit and they’d only negotiated 40000 TESTS then that would equate to 416.666 test kits which is obviously an odd number... but who knows :)
In addition, 40,000 tests in a population of 102m won’t even scratch the surface - almost certain it’s 3.5m.
I totally agree with you that we will not value specifics for each deal for the reasons you mentioned .Also as we are mostly dealing with government agencies they will not want to see that another country has negotiated a better deal and therefore lose face with their voters
I know what you’re saying Anders and I tend to agree but 40,000 tests... We get through that in half a day!!
