SimonPartridge1. I believe the nearest/biggest city is Choibalsan which has about 40,000 citizens and is the 4th biggest city in Mongolia
So at what price will you be (finally) willing to sell your PM shares (should you have any)?
This is my 3rd attempt to get you to respond to my query. Are you up to it? Bad Prophet has disclosed his price - can't you do the same?
Yes Hamm, but we can look at some other opportunities too.
And because I am looking on my holding here as wasted one I sold part of it a week ago and invested in PANR.
Hope it was right decision. So have a look on this company and decide if such move is suitable to you too.
Atb.
Simples. Idealistic Uni kids from Ulanbaatar turn up at local soum meetings with mobile phones, recording the meetings and plastering it all over social media, using legal loopholes to close roads, firing up not very well educated locals by telling them they are being ripped off or... if they support the oil industry, publicly 'exposing' them for "selling their birthright". All done on the aforementioned social media with the kids cheering on.
Fook all to do with Mike Buck.
Yes simonpartridge1
In such a simple question the whole essence of those dirty games is hidden. But many of the investors here did not even express the doubts and ask themselves this perfectly reasonable question, the answer to which screams for itself.
Sorry that should be Agro not Afro!
Does anybody know what is the biggest town near to PM’s oilfield, and how many people live there.Mongolia is almost all desert, with one big city,Ulaan Batar. How can a few people cause so much Afro re the license?
I think we will soon know if the government is supportive ...
Im not worried about Mike Buck. Im more worried about the very clear antagonism from the local authorities and the resource nationalist sentiment.
How about responding to my query - would that be asking too much?
Manro, unfortunately we had not many choices left, just hope we get lucky and LP gets granted soon.
Have a lovely weekend all,
Ojay, knowing you as a deep and even religious believer in Matad I didn't want to respond. But decided to do so as as an exception and example of good manner. I had 4 mLn shares and at the price of 34p and sold nearly half of them making a good profit. But after that have stupidly invested 60% of that profit again at lower prices (nearly 18p) thinking that this crook not a crook and will be deliver what he has promised. So, it would been much wise to sell at 18p all of holding and get out from this ugliness, instead to having nearly 1 mLn now but consider them as lost investment. So, unlike you I do not have even a drop of trust this swindler and if something good is going to happen it will not because of his merit at all but just as a fluke.
particularly those who consider PM to be a bad investment - and haven't sold out - know exactly at which SP they would gladly bail out.
At what price (should you still be invested) would you, Manro, bail out at?
Fact is if China was not locked down and the borders were open would we be where we are, i think the simple answer is no.
Still just a waiting game here, some have no patience.
@manro,
Is that really the case? When I look at the last news, the problems with the local authorities were always a main topic .... It doesn't seem to me that PM tried to hide anything .... at least not as far as this point is concerned.
Hamm, you are absolutely right, he needed to change his strategy. But he is a crook who plays his virtual games, which give him the opportunity to empty the pockets of gullible and helpless investors without any tension. He was used as a simple advertising doll that lured us into this Mongolian trap, from which it was turned out to be not so easy to get out. Let's hope that we will freed from this trap by some chance or be able to do something and punish this crook via SFO.
No, mmafr please don't change or distort the facts. This CEO-liar has been and continues to declare covid as the main cause of all problems for more than 3 years. Even now, he continues to refer to the restrictions associated with it and as the drilling team from China cannot deliver equipment or come to Mongolia themselves to start drillings. He was already lying so much that he even began to contradict himself - why would they come and carry equipment if there is no land access?
@manro,
No need to get personal right away. I was just repeating the facts here and the problem of the local opposition was presented as the main problem at the event. This confirmed exactly what PM constantly claims to be the main reason for the delay. This cause was thus recognized by the journalists and experts present.
Manro, I appreciate of what you said. it must be something else too. It cant be just the locals really.
We need a very strong negotiator. MB needs to be there and change his strategy.
lets hope good news from MPs soon.
mmafr, you write nonsense and are very far from understanding what is happening. Mongolia is not developed Sweden, where the locals can interfere with the central government. But even where local natives are numerous and highly organized, their opinions are often ignored by the government. This is exactly what happened there most recently when the mining company Beowulf was granted an exploitation license, despite all their many and violent protests.
As for the Mongolian aborigines, not only do they not have such rights as to interfere with the central government, but they are so few in number that they are sometimes even difficult to find in this vast desert territory. Therefore, all these games which come down to the one thing only - the ability to negotiate. Got it smart guy?
An uneducated guess, however feel nothings going to happen now until next year. Prepare for the worst, but hoping for the best.
Manro, while I might not like MB/MATD approach/communication, but I don't see why MB wouldn't want to get H1 into production asap. I am still hoping the matter resolved soon and H1 gets going this year.
best,
Manro, while I might not like MB/MATD approach/communication, but I don't see why MB wouldn't want to get H1 into production asap. I am still hoping the matter resolved soon and H1 gets going this year.
best,
@Manro, :” Whereas, it could be solved in a few days if he did not lie about government support. But, even without any support, this issue could be resolved, if not in a few days, but at least in a month or two.”
You are completely wrong (and you know it). The problems with the local conditions are by no means only a problem for PM, but for the entire sector. And it is not true that these problems can be solved in the shortest possible time, because this was clearly presented as the biggest problem during the "Mongolian Mining Week 2022" (as posted by curiouserandcuriouser):

The "Mongolian Mining Week 2022" event of the mineral resources sector continues on its second day.
One of the main problems that have attracted the most attention of the industry and are waiting for a solution is the opposition of the local people.
Today, within the framework of the Mongolian Mining Week 2022 event, a meeting will be held to discuss the difficulties faced by local and foreign investors and to determine the way out of them.
Mongolia is 7 hrs ahead of us, could news drop on us tomorrow if it is about the land permits being granted, It will be 2pm their and 7am here. I wonder if the locals are just holding out for a bigger portion of the profits and have come to an agreement, obviously it all depends if what has been posted by activist bears any credence of course.
