Sorry but you appear to be yet another conspiracy theorist nutter. I suspected as much from the fact that your sentence ended "from the Novichok programme in Salisbury" I took this as an error of wording on your part rather than implying that it was self-inflicted and not the Russians at all. I was obviously wrong.
SMALLPOX PICURE
https://www.nzherald.co.nz/lifestyle/news/article.cfm?c_id=6&objectid=12238650
Only a madman would deliberately release this highly infectious horrendous disease
Chemical weapons far more likely and make sense, as targeted area and spread can be controlled unlike smallpox
"To suggest that a bioterrorm agent cannot be released because it would equally affect the rogue state doing such a thing is totally absurd...Look at a very simple recent example with the A-232 ethyl analogue binary agent from the Novichok programme in Salisbury." Not comparable surely? The only damage that Russia could (and did) incur was reputational. If their goons had managed to get in and out undetected and had not carelessly discarded their excess nerve agent where it was picked up by random civilians, they might have got away with it completely. However, there was never any physical threat to the Russian population at large, only the agents tasked with delivering the poison.
To previous posters here, I have always been suspicious of the mass information stating that "smallpox" is only held by America and Russia.A lot of other Countries may have had their hands up saying" we destroyed or holding", but does anyone really believe it.I for one never believed only two Countries retain access to it.
In my opinion 10 would be more like it.
Now , the world markets are showing we are far from giving in to CV 19, and no one with any luck at all should be out of pocket today. Do what we do as always accept volatility for what it is and buy when you are confident and see the risk as acceptable. 7% rise is never shabby, enjoy.
Boohoo last place you be ordering from , cheap Chinese made goods and a delivery man going around the houses delivering parcels to every Dick and Harry
THEOSUS
Bioterrorism highly unlikely coz it can wipe out most of the country that uses it.
Very low down in the threats that should/will wipe out the human race
USA have the smallpox vacuum just in case, the unlikely happened.
No sane long term investor sells BOOHOO

""We recovered from 2 world wars""
no we survived them...wouldn't put money on the next one though....
THEOSUS
Smallpox has existed for at least 3,000 years and was one of the world's most feared diseases until it was eradicated by a collaborative global vaccination programme led by the World Health Organization. The last known natural case was in Somalia in 1977. ... Smallpox was officially declared eradicated in 1979.
Discombobulated is a word much used by Boris himself. Its perfectly main stream especially if you read a lot.
Mad Mick

Site almost unusable today - completely overloaded again......needs more servers to add extra capacity
The world has changed in the last month. Will take decades to recovery from all the economic crap coming down the pipeline. To think a V shaped recovery post Covid you're deluding yourselves.
Expect massive unemployment, corporates going bust, debt defaults, asset deflation rising mortgages rates ect. Markets will adjust to reality.
A tsunami of debt issuance, money printing to stoke the demand side is coming.
Off to the races we are not.

I'm much more cautious about this pandemic as I believe there could be some frightening consequences in the developing countries like India, Pakistan, South America and Africa. The virus may be slower to move because of poor transport infrastructure, but conversely, the health care systems in a lot of these countries is pretty basic. We will also have some terrible mortality figures to come out of the US as the virus is still at a quite early stage.
As for China, who believes anything that they say about pandemic.
Finally, it would be helpful to have a response from our CEO, but I wouldn't hang around holding my breath.
Wuhan will lift the lockdown on Wednesday , People will be allowed to leave the city via road, rail and air, and more non-essential businesses will open their doors again, providing the first glimpse of what life could be like after a lockdown.
