Buy back seems to be propping up the price at the moment. When complete, it’ll be interesting to see where the share price goes (especially if a big recession hits). Still seems a cheap share but other than dividend payments, not sure how long it will take to get up to Credit Suisse forecast level. Have to be in it for the long term and ride out any blips (but there have been too many for my liking)
Lti - It does astound me how some predict a fall in the SP yet cling grimly to their holding. They could at least sell some and buy back when their expected fall happens. I wonder if their predictions come from analysis, gut feeling or their rather gloomy take on the world.

Got 2 x £50....but, will be closing the account and transfer the
Fund in the market once there is good dip in the FTSE.
A New low for fakey lying about premium bond win ....no mention of 2 accounts here on the original post.....feel sorry for the fool.....please grow up fakey.
Longterm investor,
Yes 80p seems a long way away and agree it would need to be around 80p SP figure for the BOD to pick up the phone! Since this buyback started the SP seems to be fixed in the 41 - 46p band, I apricate there are other factors, including war and govt issues, which are major of course. I still have a gut feel after the buy back we get in to the 60's.
This nag must be one of the worst FTSE shares to own, once it goes up straight back down hopeless
Bubble

ST (whybother is heading for the door soon. but with his '' THE FUTURES BLEAK, THE FUTURES GRIM.'', he is waiting for a lower price first before selling.
Wanderingon so would I!,
I'd happily take 70p and head for the door!
bob
A take over offer to the BOD i would have thought would not even see the light of day if under 80p
Longtime investor,
Yes I see your point, lets all hope those in for the long term see a reasonable dividend and the shares get back in to the 70's

'' if we go much lower what are the possibilities of a take over.''
No chance of being take over below NAV - there would have to be a premium to NAV.
I would hope that we may get a bit closer to 67 Billion shares left than 68 Billion after the current investment.
Lloyds was at 24p not so long ago
Honestly, I used to have respect for you, but now I just pity you.
You are poster when confronted with something, regardless how important,
You start to be rude and abusive, how sad is that !!
I should have known that long time ago, no one to be blamed but myself.
Some comments please, with the buy back well underway and reducing the shares in circulation by approx., 5% to around 68 billion coupled with the current low price of around 42p this gives us a market capitalization of approx.. £28 billion this is a significant reduction from pre - covid days. Barclays MCap is around £24 billion, if we go much lower what are the possibilities of a take over.
