AUKUS is excellent for UK. expect some naval project from Australia to be done in the UK as well. INFA should benefit from it . bargain hunting tomorrow
Might have an answer in the interims, OT.
Was a bit strange though, tbh. And there were those rather large trades around the time of the deadline.
Chrisatrdg ref 19.17 post Thanks for this on this timing we should know in around three months if HARL has been awarded the tender this would allow the formal contract to be puy on place for a February start. Would make a nice Christmas present.

(Philip Dunne) says, there is also great news on Type 31. There is a lot of good news in the sector.
Here is the transcript of the FSS Question
Mr Kevan Jones
(North Durham) (Lab)
10. If he will define the term “UK content” within the fleet solid support ship contract. (903503)
The Minister for Defence Procurement
(Jeremy Quin)
The final contract for the manufacture of the fleet solid support ships will be awarded to a UK business, either solely or as part of a consortium. We have been clear that a significant proportion of the build work will be carried out in the UK.
Mr Jones
In spring, the MOD invited international companies to collaborate with UK firms to build the fleet solid support ship contract. Earlier this year, it awarded a £5 million design contract for the project. I have tried in numerous questions to the Minister to get the answers to these questions, and I have to say to him that his answers should be getting creative writing awards for the ways in which they avoid answering questions. May I ask him a direct question: who are the design contracts with—are they with the consortium or with the individual companies? Secondly, will he confirm that the prime contractor who wins this contract will be a UK company?
Jeremy Quin
We are engaged with the consortium as a whole. I would have to check for the right hon. Gentleman on the finer points of where exactly the contract lies within that consortium, but it is the consortium that is being appointed to conduct the design work and it is the consortium that will be expected to do that work. It is then the consortium that we will be turning to for the next stage. As he knows, four awards have been made and, from memory, they are for £5 million each. They go to each in that consortium, all of which have a UK component, and they will be presenting not only their design but their views on the next stage and the build programme. I will come back on the precise point he makes, as it is a fair question.
Philip Dunne
(Ludlow) (Con)
It is a bit rich of Labour Members to be nit-picking on this contract, given that the competition that they were calling for, whereby shipyards in the UK were to be required to build these ships, is precisely what the Minister has engineered. Will he confirm to the House that following last week’s outstanding Defence and Security Equipment International exhibition in docklands, where, as he has mentioned, there were further contracts for British shipbuilders, and following the announcement of the establishment of the National Shipbuilding Office and AUKUS, the opportunities for defence shipbuilding in this country have never been greater?
Jeremy Quin
I was so flattered to be awarded the creative writing award by the right hon. Member for North Durham (Mr Jones) that I was perhaps too kind. There is an awful lot that is great going on in British shipbuilding at the moment. He has been calling for the design contracts to be awarded, and they have been awarded; we are getting on with the fleet solid support ships. As my right hon. Friend the M

Where Europe gets its gas from REVEALED: Grim chart shows Putin holds all the cards
The coronavirus pandemic was an unprecedented health crisis that affected countries around the globe. But now European countries are preparing for an unmatched crisis: an energy crunch, which experts say has been brewing for years. The continent has reported widespread shortages of gas and coal with widespread blackouts possible if wind and solar power energy sources prove insufficient.
Evening gents a question we have still not had notice of shares being issued for 2nd payment for Appledore so i guess 2 reasons possible
1/ INFA purchased shares on open market and transfered them so no dilution
2/We have not paid Langham industries (i doubt that)
Anyway been looking at Langham a well run familly business as of 2019 accounts they had assets of £90 min
so i do wonder if they have just recieved the circa 1.6 million shares and are just churning them through now
Thoughts ?
I have just been listening to the Defence Minister not answer questions around FSS. He managed not to define what significant means in relation to local content despite that being the question. He also did not confirm who the Prime contractor will be. In particular he did not confirm if the Prime Contractor had to be a UK company. This last question is important as while the tender will be with the consortium the contract has to be with a lead company. It is worrying that the Minister did not know the answer to that question as it is his job to know.
Interesting Indeed !! Thought for one moment that Gary Lineker's favourite snack Co. had become involved !!Then looked again !!!
Allianz were 10% I thought? Maybe they divested before and i missed it. Or not taken up issues in which case natural dilution.
Let’s hope Boris is on the phone to Poots

Chrisatrdg ref 11.14 post This tender notice relates to the M55 project that HARL has put in a tender for and is waiting a response to. For some reasons there does not appear to have been a tender award. I note that although the MoD is the awarding body the customer is the Lithuanian Navy.
Hi All - Can someone please explain what the significance of the following link is & might it involve H&W & where?
the link to the tender notice is https://bidstats.uk/tenders/2020/W26/729677997
Once the UK mandarins and politicos finally come to realise how truly important energy security and also that however much renewable power you build you do not solve the intermittency issue; then and only then will there be support for storage both gas and electric.
I’m thinking it’s going to cost the economy billions, indeed it already has yet the comparative cost to each customer to “socialise” energy storage as a levy is way way lower than the green charges we already pay; it’s literally only a few pence per month to give us greater (not total) energy security.
They need to redo the maths on this. A lot of us in the sector having been telling them this for many many years. Storage dampens volatility and is cheaper than interconnectors and LNG both of which are notoriously unreliable in times of market stress.
It’s hard not to say we told you so but there’s no point in that but the latest group of boneheads need to get the message but I fear some of the lights will go out before they do and these projects take several years to become fully operational
This company is hugely undervalued. Clearly there is a major investor out there that still disagreed on that
The more it drops... the more I keep adding. :)
Breakeven has gone from £1.86 to 53p. So just within the 52 week high.
Dang, just noticed it's dropped a bit more while typing.
Oh well. See what I can muster up.
