.... and he marched them up to the top of the hill......
you do all realise that by midweek when the latest round of sabotage travel restrictions are announced, this will be quickly marched back down the hill again finishing the week lower than it began?
Even if Biden announced total opening up with no tests required, within a day or two the lockdown faction in the UK government will have invented a new travel rule totally destroying any chance of true free travel for the rest of the summer.
Just take a look back through recent history. Listen to the fighting and counter press briefings coming out of all government orifices. It's all there to see if you are prepared to take off those rose tinted glasses.
My short overseas hops are generally for shopping, olive oil, coffee beans, special local delicacies etc. combined with popping in to sometimes stay over with a visit with friends or explore a small town . It is far, far cheaper to fly over to Italy, or Spain, or Portugal for a bit of shopping with the likes of Ryan air than it is to go to quality shops in London. Last look at Milan on Skyscanner.net a few days ago had most of August £9 each way!! Didn't book anything because was waiting for the Italian consular web site to update. Will now wait for the next sabotage statement from UK government. Need to stock up on coffee beans on a day trip, so combined with the cheapo tests on the government website, I should be off shopping mid August through to September. Oh! Actually I need to check any new rules on bringing cured meats and cheeses into UK now...........
BB, the quarantine in Italy is " isolamento fiduciario" ..they expect you to do it but don't check on it!!!! Enjoy short breaks in Italy. DYOR.
Italy reduced UK from C to D over the weekend, meaning you do not need a particular reason to visit, but you do have to do 5 days quarantine on arrival. Not sure how that works when I re-start my day trips and weekend trips, lol.
Whilst people are chatting on here, iag share price is up by more that 4%. Many on here would have liked for it to go down but sorry to disappoint you!!!This is going up from now...no more lockdowns as stated by a few countries now..us and italy. Happy days ahead. DYOR.
Jtan..
did your 6 figure, contained the 2 decimal points
Jtan has been sensible. haven't seen a poor post from him. Everyone entitled to their opinion as long as its not personal or abusive.
Guys
Please stop bickering, JTAN teddy does have a point, be man enough to accept what was gentle criticism and I say that as one of your supporters...
variant mutations aside, looks like this is going up. Not sure anyone else noticed the announcement by IAG that they are ramping up their services, and could provide 75% capacity by Q4 should the market be there (which they are expecting)....
GLA
PS I've opened myself up for ridule by posting 200 or above by mid sept. Take aim guys (just an opinion of course)))
Jtan that explains all your negativity then!! you want to buy lower. All i can say this is not going down to £1.50 like many would like it to go. Can't wait for Biden to make the announcement to shut a lot of people up. DYOR.
Jtan: A gentleman never discusses monetary value, it is not the done thing my old chap.
I have stated my intention very clearly and often so no idea what you think I could be hiding as an agenda. Like many, I wait for an opportune moment relative to other stocks and I have been in and out of IAG many times. There is no rule that to comment on a share or the environment the share exists in you must hold any amount of that share. Why are some of you so annoyed? Did you regard this as your private territory? YOU feck off to ADVFN where you can set up you own private territory and restrict participation only to voices you want to hear. This is a public forum, deal with it.
@BB: I have a significant shareholding in IAG and from the 1st of July I have posted 19 messages on the BB. It would appear that you have no holding in IAG and you have made 239 postings since the 1st of July. The question I ask myself is why? What is your agenda? Are you lonely? BB, I was brought up to never make fun of the afflicted, but you really need to shut the feck up.
What difference does it make if somebody does or does not hold IAG shares? This bb is not some private owners club. If all you want is a private bb with fellow holders telling each other that the good times are just around the corner, go and set up a board on ADVFN, make yourself the moderator and access by invitation only. Meanwhile, in this public forum, it will remain just that. A public forum.
Jtan I was not solely referring to BA but a general increase in flights by a number of carriers, I think as IAG shareholders (do you hold any IAG shares?)we are pleased to see our aircraft flying once more and that IAG will return to profitability in the near future.
@Jtan: Do you actually have any IAG stock? I see that you are always very negative towards IAG but what is your motivation? Do you lack the ball-s to make a position here or are you just a fricking sad individual. I see that you are in Nex, as was I when I bought it for 116p, I have since sold out to put everything in IAG but I wouldn’t dream
of going on the Nex BB to deramp the stock, we are all here to make some money against the whales, so grow some ba-lls and shut the feck up.
repatriation is indeed spelt 'repatriation'. Well done, 1 house point. Meanwhile, reparation is spelt 'reparation'. I shall make some oxygen latter with some hydrogen peroxide and manganese(IV) oxide I happen to have lying around the basement laboratory and release directly to the atmosphere to off-set any 'waste' earlier. At least one of us on here is environmentally friendly.
It is spelt repatriation! Never mind that. What a waste of oxygen.
Is that traffic urgent reparation or plebs off on their hols, or to get stoned in Amsterdam.
Checking my flightradar24 today certainly a big increase in flights in the South East, predominantly BA, Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2 a few Tui and KIM seem to be active on the Amsterdam routes.
