Bartlebottom,
" Nixon, aka tricky dicky, is seen as one of the most deceitful US presidents that ever lived"
Maybe. But he essentially based all his further career on having been a demon poker-player during his time in the navy. Check it out.
I doubt that the present POTUS could even spell the word 'deceitful' on his twitter-feeds, let alone give a rough definitition of what the word means.
Yrs, slighly tipsy after an evening in a 'rough' café, but where we're all 'honest thieves', and my car in a garage 90 miles away awaiting repairs but everything covered by insurance,
adoubleuk
No... I think she was from San Francisco.
Cuban... ?
?? Nixon was a politician, of course he lied. Now who said 'I did not have sex with that woman'. Ok, technically it may have been a cigar....
Aduk.... Nixon, aka tricky dicky, is seen as one of the most deceitful US presidents that ever lived, he backed himself into a corner with the "I'm not a crook ". quote.. At the time of Watergate he never did confess to any wrong doing, but did say he mislead the public , fine sentiment and weasel words...he was a lawyer, before becoming a politician, if the hat fits, (not yours)... For those who don't know, he resigned part way through his second term, when facing certain impeachment.
As a footnote, Nixon ran again JFK in the 1960 presidential election.
ADUK - "At least Nixon was an honest criminal" ..... come now..... I've listened to all the speeches and can assure you that he was not a crook and earned everything he got!! :-) Anyway..... some more tree shaking today...can't be too much dead fruit left hanging there, and the dead heading nearly done we can only hope..... Brandy bought and ready to open....
SIPP,
"Haha Biffadog we were writing around the same time and agreed!"
I wasn't typing here, but read Biffa's post and just gave it a thumbs-up. Particularly liked his last line. The price of crude oil can now be affected by a two-liner bit of nonsense coming over 'twitter' from an obviously deranged POTUS.
We live in a completely different world, these days. Not like the 70's at all. At least Nixon was an honest criminal.
Haha Biffadog we were writing around the same time and agreed!
Trump tweet might have had an influence
Had a very good telephone conversation with President Xi of China. We will be having an extended meeting next week at the G-20 in Japan. Our respective teams will begin talks prior to our meeting.

Anyone know why both Brent and West Texas headed north at midday today? Seemed to have helped HUR recover
