The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Biffa.... Indeed it does... My mind is resting peacefully and patiently... Thanks.
Biffa... I like the argument and don't want to disagree...but didn't the last set of financial statements, in the risk register, report a poo of less than 62 as being where risk to profit kicks in.... Apologies if I didn't recall that correctly.
....you've started a run now on liking Youzlez's post....
JK..... Youzlez may have a bug problem...
something out just now, you can get your teeth into.... :-)
my ex-wife's gynecologist said similar...
Indeed..... The original is comparable with Dr Strangelove..... But the sequels with something one scrapes from their shoe.... Haven't found that Highlander aged well though.... But no escaping it was a classic of its time.
JK....Okay.....I had it but I didn't want to publicly embarrass myself so I confess I double checked first.....for that I send my sincere honesty for what it's with, wrapped up in ribbons of sincerity...I recently wrote a Withnail spoof for the board ref the share price, in honour of the Driver....so I'm big into analogous movie quotes, and yours was the first post to bring me out the Fox den since Monday....but....just to clarify there is no suggestion of Bugs at Warwick, correct?
I took a small sabbatical, I also confess, to find something to help offset my loss of Monday and I'm ashamed, also, to say that I accidentally achieved that on Tsla of all things.....so it's been a funny old week....
I took your advice from earlier and drank brandy every evening while mulling over what to do....and I'm happy to be back, boots on the ground, as a starship trooper....if that's okay of course....
Oooh.....Oooh......I know this one.. its Starship Troopers...yes sir... Do I win a prize.....
ADUK - the only important question today, is: how is the lovely Clara?
Yes... I'm hereby exercising my calm, and long term view...not just on this, but on all the positions I (we) hold... So long as the fundamentals are there, then it's just about time in the market, not timing the market whichever angle from which you look at it...(see what i did there, I got the angle joke back in) :-)
Good answer; I like that. I will probably ratiocinate much better after a few brandies anyway....
Thanks JK.... meanwhile I'm picturing a young girl in a cafe named Clara calling the police and asking them to come and collect the scary man who keeps asking her about obtuse angles.... AK - you better make yourself scarce ( :-) )
So...that bottle of brandy I bought a couple of weeks back is staring at me with trepidation right now - but here is the big question(s)....what is the perfect news on which to drink it...and can the Cheshire Cat still pull something out the bag overnight, I wonder?
oooohh...great game..... I'm going to go with 'ratiocination'...
Wulbert - 'tulia brother' as we used to say on the coast.... It means 'relax, man' and have another beer. I'm with you, and actually in the red now on this one from a few occasions of day-panic; poorly timed day trading.... But, Beer makes everything better. Idle cash is the enemy, and if you're even a little in the green, it's okay and you're not alone. The tree is being shaken (or shooked, I think you can say after two beers).... And once shooked the tree is full of only the hardiest, ripest fruit. I'm even in the green on my Tesla shares (don't chastise me ADUK), but HUR dragging for now - but I am not worried. It's going to be okay - just give it time...the oil isn't going anywhere and people are not going to suddenly not need it overnight...It's okay. Enjoy the beers and dream of Carmelite nuns... What are they btw?
Dr Bruce - I believe that clever piece of tech is called 'swipe text' or some such thing.... I use it, to great amusement sometimes, particularly after a few brandies... My son does this crazy texting thing with both fingers and I can't possibly see the fun in getting the message correct....Most of the biggest ## ups in my life have been caused by an erroneously sent text.... I miss my old Nokia - before smart 'phones killed it. Anyway, you know what I like about the days when the SP is rough....it brings out the calm headed folk....the kind of conversation those who 'dressed in their finest' on the Titanic would have had (and no, this is not a comparison with anything going down - this ship is coming into port, for sure, and there will be a fanfare I have no doubt)....We were told we would need a calm head, warm heart and empty stomach... Well, the calm heads remain....I'm ready to eat soon.... (smiley face and GLA).
ADUK - "At least Nixon was an honest criminal" ..... come now..... I've listened to all the speeches and can assure you that he was not a crook and earned everything he got!! :-) Anyway..... some more tree shaking today...can't be too much dead fruit left hanging there, and the dead heading nearly done we can only hope..... Brandy bought and ready to open....
Wulbert - O/T ...... "MrmrFox; Re; Your "Withnail & I" / Hamlet mash up. Thanks. It reminded me that I haven't seen that film for years."....
Great movie - glad you're taking that proverbial trip down memory lane (maybe in the proverbial Jag Mk II) :-) ....I had been a little worried I'd put the entire BB to sleep after that....Everyone is awake now I see though..... .I won't go on with any movie quotes, cos I would never stop.... Great movie for a rainy Sunday...
Wulbert - agree with you..... a return in the red can often pick at someone's overall strategy and blind their patience.....and it's been a challenging last 9 months in most equities world-wide.....not an easy time..... Anyway..... I bought myself a bottle of good brandy today....think I'm going to open it Thursday night, put it that way.......meanwhile, couldn't resist the below little reference, since it's the weekend and all; sums up the last few weeks I think....and it might put a smile on TheDriver's face, if he's a Withnail fan that is.....
.....I have of late, but wherefore I know not, lost a good chunk of my unrealised gain, forgone all logic of FOIL; and indeed it goes so heavily with my portfolio that this goodly Share, and Texas Light, seems to me a sterile price; this most excellent Company, the FPSO, look you, brave Brent, that majestical rope fretted without extra lining, why, it appears no other thing to me than a foul and pestilential congregation of top-slicers.
What a piece of work is WallStreet! how ignoble in reason! how infinite in day-trading! in puts and calls how short and downgraded! in action how like a de-ramper! in apprehension how like a poor p/e ratio! the beauty of the LTH! the paragon of investors!
And yet to me, what is this quintessence of dusters? The price delights not me: no, nor TheDriver neither...nor theDriver neither....
Sure...but remember it's close to impossible to know what someone is really like from a written message....You don't know how their day has been or what's going on in their lives....so I always like to give the benefit of the doubt - and just read the facts..(like an RNS compared to rumours).... Take Steve73 and Laserdisc for example... Their posts are essential reading....and they don't want to sift through junk messages I'm sure... But anyway, man, I'm super confident that in a month or so you're going to be back in the green...no stress. I've been 40% down on some stocks in the past and they've shot back up....It will be okay.
TheDriver....Biffa might some across strong sometimes but he's superbly knowledgeable on a lot of topics on which, you among others, are going to want to know about over the coming months..... So...I'd personally chill out a little, especially since its the weekend. This SP is going to be okay.... hold your nerve, I would suggest, stop swearing on the BBs... I usually show these posts to my kid at the weekend cos some of them are hilarious....usually.... Anyway, just saying.... relax man....watch some TV, have a beer... we're all in the same boat....and its going to be fine....Next couple of weeks I'm sure there's going to be a lot of love on these BBs.
