Pfffff hmm... I made some enquiries, phoned around and even asked the postman.. I have one friend here who's willing but he said he'll erm *cough* have the lot for £50 and a pack of chewies
Corruption could be a positive, if you get held back by bureaucracy and red tape you just pay your way out of it
Seems you’re right Prae.
I don’t suppose you know anyone who’d be prepared to buy my worthless HE1 shares for say 10p each? Got to shift ‘em before the crap hits the fan and this becomes general knowledge.
GG guys, Nuri pointed out the obvious that Africa is ravaged by corruption so guess HE1 don't have a chance then lol. Now that is some serious straw clutching to try and scare us hahaha do you not think that maybe if anything the high level of corruption would help us? At one point does corruption = potentially very profitable long term company be worthless... Plus as Kopf mentioned, corruption is everywhere. Even here in the UK the Covid-19 response has laid bare the incredible corruption that takes place. Matt Han**** paying his mate's millions in PPE contracts who can barely make the equipment whilst genuine PPE manufacturers are ignored. Boris swindling tax payer's money for things like his flat renovation, Kate Bingham who was formerly head of the vaccine procurement task force who... also held stakes in the same companies she was buying vaccines off once again using our money, Han**** extending the length of time Serco (I believe) is allowed to harvest our data by another two years... Why?? (He was actually taken to court for this and last time I heard they won but not sure whether they won the whole case), test and trace costing £34 billion.. America is far, far worse. So I guess there's no point in investing in any British or American company then because apparently corruption = worthless stocks lol get a grip and get f*cked
The UK govt has an Anti Corruption Champion : https://www.transparency.org.uk/what-does-uk-s-anti-corruption-champion-do (sorry can't make link work so you'll have to cut n paste).
Current occupant is John Penrose MP. This is an appointment of the Prime Minister. Mr Penrose is married to Baroness Dido Harding, currently head of Test and Trace as part of the UK response to covid 19. Don't think we need to get over-excited about any random perceived issues in Tanzania, UK is hardly shouting from the summit of the moral high ground. and that's before we get into PPE contracts and various planning consents. In an ideal world this would matter but it doesn't, in the UK or anywhere else.
The HE1 project is as clean and transparent and engaged as it is possible to be with genuine local govt support as it is investing in the local economy in a positive way.
Corruption has always been part of government. I believe there should be a department for corruption. Not just for reporting it, but testing - like a mystery shopper. Someone tried to offer a bribe to the planning department and it doesn't get reported? Was that a test, is more training required, do they need to be replaced etc.
When people here say 'wait for the SPUD to arrive' are they talking about Nuri
Seisprocessor,
Absolutely! And it is not only in Europe where corruption has been met with measures to counter it; Africa is trying their best to, and Latin America (Brazil I know 1st hand) and Asia. People in Africa are starting to understand that they have to change if they are to get somewhere and there are decent people who are fighting it.
What I find absolutely immoral is this Nuri chap coming here, and let's not be gullible here, to try and deramp to scare folks so that numpty can buy on the cheap. What he doesn't get it is that people are not stupid. If the share price drops here it is because traders are doing their thing (with 100 million share out there it doesn't surprise me) and not because "genius" will come here with some corruption story and try to scare folk!!
D-Geeman, :0)
Bigbench, you gave me the idea to research RR. He will have to swallow that without mayonnaise!
Mr SpaceTomato,
Don't let this poster get away with an unsubstantiated notion of corruption - the implications can be very serious.
I've been working offshore Africa for a very long time - Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria, Gabon, Angola, Namibia, S.Africa, Mozambique, Madagascar - and been in Arusha,Tanzania as well.
For the past 10-12 years at least, all oil companies have strict anti-corruption policies developed that have to be adhered to.
All customs officers and officials seeking any kind of benefit have it gently but firmly explained that companies cannot indulge them, and nowadays it has been reluctantly accepted.
Maximum 'gift' allowed is up to 50 dollars or maybe a carton of cigarettes.
Of course it happens on a large scale at government level, especially in Angola, but if any oil company was found to have engaged in making a bribe, the consequences would be immediate loss of the operating license.
The same would apply to HE1, and they have a CEO in DM that has just spent 3 months living with his family in-country and has built up a network of contacts that allow the company to carry out their business to the highest of standards.
Later on, when I get a chance, I'll post some more thoughts and analysis on the seismic data for Tai and glad that you and others have appreciated the input.
Excellent ST...only 25yrs of bribery and corruption! :-0
ST, I think it goes on everywhere there are people.
(I did find your Stoctwits photo of Wilson BTW :-)
Bigbench, here..for Nuri..with compliments:
"The UK's Serious Fraud Office (SFO) found conspiracy to corrupt or failure to prevent bribery by Rolls-Royce in China, India and other markets.
The firm apologised "unreservedly" for the cases spanning nearly 25 years!.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-38644114
Now he can go and fo.
Those question marks were supposed to be laughing faces btw
More of a voyeur here. But "Matt handjob" ????
Nuri i think you will find all governments operate with a degree of corruption.. look at Boris and his cronies PPE contracts.. matt handjob neighbour registers a company with companies house... two weeks later land a £15m contract... or is that just a coincidence?... Maybe in Africa they are just more upfront about it.. everyone wants a slice.
How many times have officials from RR aerospace been done for bribing to gain contracts ?? i... haven't got enough toes and fingers to count!
Nuri, and then what, if one high official in Tanzania wants their flat refurbished, then what? How much will that cost? £20K? We pay if that is to "get things done"!
Corruption has always been a two way road...those who pay and those who get paid..they both win.."to get things done"!
What makes the one who pays less corrupt than the one that gets paid?
Anyway, you can leave now as you made your point. However, if you insist in posting we all will know what you want...to get in cheaper..come on...get things done and buy.
No one in theis BB would be lurking another BB preaching the evils of investing in Africa (YES, we are investing, and like our CEO, great man, said we want to "give jobs to the locals" and of course as well as bing their riches to the Tanzania coffers to pay for schools, hospitas, etc.
You can stay with your high morals and invest in Europe.. you shouldn't even be here to be honest...it si an African Giant through and through in the making..so goodbye.
Stay safe

As my other more-informed invested have pointed out you’ve posted
three times with the same bull****, so twice for me in replying
and reporting your posts forthwith.
I’ve seen a very good investment to get into right now, but have no resources;
Flybynightjet seems right up your street, get in now, thank me later.
Or the banking and finance industry.
Difference is everyone knows that in Africa, Eastern europe etc there is blatant corruption and you know before you start that someone will need a transaction benefit of some kind. Better if it is cash as opposed to a 'favour'. In western europe they just call it the government :)
Mr space tomato - what a strange name! I'm not invested either direction. I give my point of view - don't listen to me. I've seen companies like this come and go. Investors always end losing everything. Good luck. No offence taken.
Nuri123a,
What I find interesting about you, you said: "looked at this company to invest in. It has no income and is basically a casino punt - not 50/50 but more like a 10-15% chance of succeeding. I invested in companies that operated in Africa.... Good luck - lets hope your investment takes off and is not a lead balloon. I won't be investing in pipe dreams".
You said that 3 posts ago, but no one gave you a toss, so you had to post TWO more posts to make sure we heard you! Seriously, if you want to buy the share, buy it! Don't lower yourself to these desperate measures of pathetically trying to deramp..the more you wait, the more you will have to pay in the end.
I know, I know, it hurts being late, but that's tough luck dude! Suck it up and do it!
Nuri, locals are also benefiting from this project. Jobs created, training provided, farmers paid. Please see the bigger picture. The world needs helium. Hopefully you will never need to be MRI scanned which also needs helium.
Good luck to you in your investments. All the best.
GLA genuine investors of HE1.
I am wading through a book by the same title. not really sure its any better now, just different Guv
Nuri, I suspect you underestimate the level of corruption in Europe, and also conflate all African countries.
Talking of corruption we just watched 'Bent Coppers' on the iPlayer (The Met the and London City Police in the 70's and 80's – shocking, and hopefully better now!)
