I understand it’s been a long wait for LTHs but surely you all knew and expected Harland to have revenues and valuation in the hundreds of millions - while clearly the closest to ML being granted as a solution to the current gas crisis - https://mobile.twitter.com/HarlandWolffplc/status/1449038551002357764?t=5qutagn6kO9qA9za8vJUfA&s=09 iv seen the words green light in 6plus news articles
That the 22bn budget for new ships will included Harland and Wolff
And that team resolute wasn’t formed for no reason - and now have been awared 5million for the tender process https://www.defenseworld.net/news/30435/Navantia__Team_awarded_Fleet_Solid_Support_ship_Design_Contract_by_UK_MoD#.YWx0gmnTVPw ( although not issued in an rns, as well of the costs of all the work that’s been done over the last 3 month )
Seems to be a wait and see but that makes no sense to me.
If half of what is speculated materialises this SP is heading x2 x3 x4.
If not a crash to earth again, but the newsflow is so + here atm, I am surprised that the price is not much higher and when realisation sinks in then it will be hard to chase.
Not adding here, but so want too. I have shedloads already.
Hard not to add though.
GLA DYOR
What position was the company in at the 52wk high compared to now?
What caused the SP to rise to 154p - that will be available after the ML announcement
And lastly - what do you expect next week Wednesday and Thursday?
After the last interview, posters scrutinised JW for mention of the ML within days which landed shortly thereafter
With last weeks House of Lords talk - I expected the quoted “first UK defence contract within weeks” to land any day as it’s been over 4 weeks since JW made that comment.
I do recall when the SP was in the 40s , knowledgeable commentators suggested a positive ML ruling would be worth + 50 p on the SP.
I don’t mind when - would you agree after the ML announcement harl is in the strongest position in the last 52weeks?
And now after 18months of reactivation - would you also agree that
The gas storage
The fabrication
And ship side
All individually can bring in hundreds of million in revenues over time
And lastly - with the sapiem 26mil contract - the ML - all exsisting infrastructure, ships that have visited in the last 3 months and expected news that we’re currently undervalued? 30p is still cheap here
Harland and Wolff should never be a 20-30mil mcap company and I’m sure over the rest of the year and during 2022 we’re easily be a 100mil+ Mcap company - I’d very surprised if LTHs don’t agree based off pure numbers and fundamentals.
WiseInvestor23 ref 08.03 post I do not see the share price going above 30p without significant contract news. Personally I would not expect anything of note before next week Wednesday or Thursday.
Morning mate
It was a previous video in regards to pms intention for ship building in the UK
The the budget got increased from 16.5 to 22bn
And last the talk from the House of Lords pushing shipbuilding is from last Thursday.
Have a good day all, expecting 30+ here this week and new 52wk highs on ML official green light - and higher as news continues to flow - I’m anticipating the UK defence contract to arrive shortly
Wise investor23 re your post last night. Was there something I missed from the PM or was it a review of previous news? Is there a new report by Vox on HARL?
Excellent news
“We very much welcome the Prime Minister’s announcement today to increase defence spending. This builds on yesterday’s Ten Point Plan announcement, much of which will directly benefit InfraStrata, since our group, as it currently stands, spans at least half of the Prime Minister’s ten points.”
“When we acquired both the Belfast and Appledore shipyards, we set out a vision to unlock the potential of these two critical and strategic facilities. The Harland & Wolff Group is determined to making the most of this increased defence budget and commitment to UK naval power. It is clear from today’s announcement that there will be substantial packages of work available, with an additional eight Type 26 and five Type 31 vessels being confirmed in addition to Type 32 and other research vessels”
Harland & Wolff is well in the running for the Fleet Solid Support Warship programme worth circa £1.5bn. Its reclassification as a warship means that the programme has to be led by a British shipyard with a “significant proportion of the build and assembly work to be carried out in the UK”. As a significant stakeholder in Team Resolute, Harland & Wolff, unlike the current duopoly of defence primes, has the capacity and capability to deliver on this programme on time (or ahead of time) and on budget. Whilst we are friendly disruptors, we will continue to work alongside our competitors to secure the best outcome for British shipbuilding and future generations of school and university leavers.
“We saw the commitment this government and this Prime Minister has to reviving proper British shipbuilding when he visited our Appledore shipyard in August. We look forward to working with government on both defence and the Green Industrial Revolution in order to secure the future of our two shipyards, become the centre of excellence for renewable energy fabrication in the UK and build a portfolio of profitable domestic and export oriented contracts.”
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/first-steel-cut-for-royal-navy-type-31-programme
As announced by the Prime Minister last November, Defence has received an increase in funding of over £24 billion across the next four years, enabling our Armed Forces to adapt to meet future threats of which the Type 31 will form a part.
First UK defence contract due in a “few weeks” - https://www. V o x m a r k e t s .co.uk/articles/john-wood-of-harland-wolff-infrastrata-mou-with-navantia-and-windar-renovables-be85514/
I’m looking more into Team resolute also which will turn into more contacts.
Exciting weeks and months ahead and bright future going forward.

John wood - “the lawyers have been on this for two years l, we believe even if there was a challenge it would not pass the various thresholds to be taken seriously”

Island Magee is a clear solution to a problem - and will hold gas and eventually hydrogen.

Strongest position in the last 52weeks and after the ML is granted in the last 5yrs and in Harland and Wolff/Infastratas history. Lots more to come
