It was a rhetorical question lol
yawn to both of you ??
I make no apology. Opu has consistently shown his views are based on hyperbole and without analysis.
"you’re 4’8” in your high heels and I’m 6.2 in my stockings .. now that’s about 25% yeh ? I’d dwarf you agreed"
The problem with this 'analogy' - obviously - is you'd have to believe the delta of 1'4" dwarfed the 4'8" in order to apply it to Opu's argument. It clearly doesn't.
" PUTUP and mates were saying sp would be be down at 150p after 10% divi money confirmed. Yawn."
Show me where this was stated. Hint: it wasn't.
"If we get 16p per share for example, does the sp drop 16p on ex div date in theory?"
All else being equal, yes, it ought to. 16p per share has left the value of the company. However, rarely does all else remain equal. The value that's left in the company can change - up or down. But make no mistake, the 16p that left can't affect the value of the company anymore and unless you believe other factors have affected the value of what's left you would mark down the value of the stock by that amount. And in order to get your 'dividend yield' (a simplistic calculation of divi per share divided by the cum divi share price) you need the residual value of the company to rally back to the cum divi price. Else you don't have a yield at all. You've just shifted some value from one pocket to the other. 'Dividend yields' are an illusion - particularly those created by major, 'special' dividends which significantly affect the capitalization of the company. The company can equally alter its capital structure and return capital via a buyback. Do you calculate a 'dividend yield' when the company does a buyback and cancels the shares?
opu,
I think most on this chat were dead against a buyback. Taking the divi cash and buying the stock in the market is the same as a buyback effectively. Confusing messaging ;)
No according to most on here the majority of the $50 million dollars will convert back into more shares , with a good chance it pushes the SP even higher , all depends on oil price trend and payments coming in from MNR
GLA LTH not many days to the first Divi cut off date
If we get 16p per share for example, does the sp drop 16p on ex div date in theory?
Sorry head in the clouds this morning.... ignore all my posts!
Where are you getting a $100m dividend from? The proposal is 2 x $25m dividends.
No the share price post dividend. However the divi is in USD so thats actually wrong.
The right maths would be: £417M Mcap - £71M (~$100M) = £346.
Share price post divi ~ £1.62.
"£1.49 a share ? - as a dividend payout per share ????
If only.............
Fairly simple maths....?
Market cap of £417M - £100M dividend = £317M
£317M / 213M shares in issue = £1.49 a share?
Not sure whats to argue about?
Nice one. Always fancied juggling dwarfs in my fish nets.
PUTUP and mates were saying sp would be be down at 150p after 10% divi money confirmed. Yawn.
that would be your fishnet stocking delta ....................... lol !
:-)
errrrr just a minute … the man was relatively speaking so calm yourself down a bit ! Let me give you an example if you please !!!!
you’re 4’8” in your high heels and I’m 6.2 in my stockings .. now that’s about 25% yeh ?
I’d dwarf you agreed
"The 'R' factor in this country is now irreverent. It's about hospitalizations and how effective the vaccine is. The oil price is not just about this country anyway. The Chinese are burning oil like there is no tomorrow. There is also no need to be so rude."
Lol
"The 'R' factor in this country is now irreverent. "
LOL! Do you even know what the R factor is? Hint: it has nothing to do with Covid and a lot to do with GKP.
The 'R' factor in this country is now irreverent. It's about hospitalizations and how effective the vaccine is. The oil price is not just about this country anyway. The Chinese are burning oil like there is no tomorrow. There is also no need to be so rude.
errr.... going from 44k to 55k is about a 25% increase in receipt. That doesn't "DWARF all previous income". Not even close. That assumes the R factor stays where it is and yet we know it will rise quickly. Opu, you've never been one to actually do some analysis.
if the oil price continues to hold or even increase??, the extra income from the 55K bpd WILL DWARF all previous income, the return to decent oil revenue will most likely result in an increase in Dividend Payment and special Dividend Payments going forward.
GLA LTH Nice to see GKP continue in its re-rating the size of the asset not even priced in ATM
Hmmm - unfortunately, from long experience, I fear that the tinpots will find a devious way of under/late/reducing/instigating a punitive tax/withholding/imposing a special contribution ‘to aid the poor of Kurdistan’..... ways of securing the Camel’s share of the fantasy payments for their good selves. Nadim wil be consulted to direct his powerfull mind to the problem now that he has jabbed you all.
if the 55k a day is achieved that's c $80m p.a extra revenue coming in from KRG payments.
Not to be sniffed at
Personally the thought of any near term expansion does not get me excited.
I'm invested here because this company is a cash cow, with hardly any OPEX costs and a massive cost pool which will be be getting transferred to investors over the next few years via buy backs / divi's etc.
If development towards 110kbopd kicks in requiring a large CAPEX spend, massively reducing cash flow and halting any divi / share buy back for the next few years then I would exit this company as I am not looking for an oil company investment that bears fruit 2-3-5 years down the line. I want a big slice of that cost pool in the near term and that's the only reason I'm here!
I think that if this team can ever eventually achieve that allusive and late, late, late 55kbbls/d - it adequately underlinesthat they are ill-equipped to expand our production any further - without external professional technical and commercial assistance.
When one looks at the riches heaped on Jon F and Sami for their mammoth contribution of skillfully decimating our SP as their greatest achievement - imagine the rewards which the current BoD will think they are due !
Surely Jaap could have brought in some competent old mates from his (reputedly) vast experience as highly paid consultants- to get us there years ago ?
What does he do all of his (part-time ?) days at GKP to better our lot one wonders ?
message repeated - technical glitch
