I’m not going through all of this thread to find out who said it, but didn’t someone say they had lost money due to The companies mismanagement “ or words to that effect??
Yes
No
Ok but back to the two questions that I asked.
Do you agree that DB showed high confidence of sales in June?
Do you agree that we have had no sales in June?
@Magsy18 I will happily debate with you in a professional manner but to be clear, it is of little consequence to me if you buy or sell this share. There is a bigger picture going on here and the 12th June presentation, in my opinion, demonstrated a large opportunity for GDR, whose success is not based on sales in June or some assumption that any perceived failure to convert sales in June, means the CEO is untrustworthy or a liar.
Those notions are such nonsense, that I said as such the last time we debated. If you were able to review the + 5,000 posts that I have published here, over the last 7 years or so, you will see that I am always professional and courtious. This is business and should be conducted as such, at all times. There is much at stake for some and that should always be respected.
So when I said nonsense the other day, that really was about as far as I go with dis-courteousness and demonstrates how over focused the discussion is on these front end weeks and achievements.
What David Budd said at the start of the Q&A was "i've already communicated that we expected orders in June" and the slide 12 stated "anticipate first sales in June." So yes confidence from DB was high, well done him but I won't be shooting him if it fails to materialise because its only the first month of opportunity.
He then followed up with "as a minimum we will do an update in early July." No more no less.
Much more importantly, he also stated "the most critical thing. . . is the commercial agreements and revenue side of the high through put. Everybody I know is hanging on that, so I just ask everybody to have a bit of faith and confidence in what we are doing"
"we are working to establish lots of new channels and we are certainly not going to announce everything." At no point in the feed back question on expected news flow, did he says first sales would be communicated.
What he did also say in the Q&A is that about 60,000 tests were manufactured and sent out in the week after CE marking and "we've now got tests out into South Africa, Spain, Italy, Germany, India etc."
"The main feedback. . . people can't really believe how easy it is to use"
It is these sorts of comments from Mr Budd that are more of interest to me as an investor, than the exact timing of first sales, given the fact that demand is deemed to be longer term.
The test is in potential European customers hands and they are saying it is surprisingly easy to use. That points heavily towards sales, be it e cannot pinpoint June as the date. Is that critical? No. The sales taking place is what is critical.
"The process of purchasing a diagnostic is different to consumer products"
"End users have to assure themselves that it works. . . that it is safe. They don't do that just because you say it is"
You can by all means focus on that first sales itch but it isn't what is key here and given sufficient time, GDR for me will prove as much.
Phil sorry to say but NO ONE can tell you if they have sales or not, its price sensitive information! It will be released via RNS and through no other channels thems the rules!
Sorry Newbie what was the extract from PR about retail pumping?
I apologise people for constantly moaning but this is painful..but I went heavily here, I have about 15 different holdings so am used to AIM games but I just feel really conned by how it's gone with ODX and here, so ****ed of with how they have both been handled. Then for Paul at the PR company to say it's down to retail pumping and dumping was the last straw! S h I t show, really is!
I think we all need to take a chill pill... just sit back a wait. All this discussion are getting everyone nickers in a twist!
If you want to sell, then sell...I am going to wait and see how things will unfolds. I have a large amount invested in here...take a deep breath and count to 100.
No, for some reason, you fail to understand that what sensible investors do is consider all evidence presented to them, both positive and negative. All evidence points to there being no sales in June. There is no point trying to convince myself that this is not the case. All I can do is consider this and alter my view of what I think is possible in the future. I don't like the fact they made no sales in June but I am still confident of making some returns in the short to medium term.
LB28, so you think that DB is holding back from reporting finalised sales that happened over a week ago?
“You are underestimating the timescales involved to achieve regulatory approvals in the regions where GDR's test can gain the most traction.”
So are you saying that DB also undrestimated timescales ? He’s our ceo ffs !!!
LB28, you're weak.
If you truly believe that what I and others are saying is nonsense, it should be very easy for you to disprove it with some well thought out arguments.
Of course, you can only resort to the usual. Name calling.
H ow the **** can you trade this dog. All it does if go down.
Honestly LB some of the stuff you come out with.
You posted about placement being offloaded still this morning.
BBN, two questions.
Do you agree that DB showed high confidence of sales in June?
Do you agree that we have had no sales in June?
Easy to say when you aren't down thousands due to their mis management
With all due respect and I really do not mean offence here, but in my opinion you are not giving the company enough time to breathe on this. This a new product that has to go through regulatory hoops, as will all other tests that compete with it in the future.
You are underestimating the timescales involved to achieve regulatory approvals in the regions where GDR's test can gain the most traction.
Focusing in on 1 update which comes just 7 weeks after product launch, is for me too concentrated, be it that it has worth in terms of direction to date.
This is why the demand question is so important here. The acknowledgement that demand for high quality easy to use PCR testing, will be a longer term market, allows GDR the time to implement a more thorough regulatory plan and places timescales in a broader context. There appears to be some belief that the market opportunity is being somehow missed.
Whilst there is of course a need for urgency to ensure the hard work to date has not been wasted and that revenues are indeed maximised, it is not a race against Covid being there because as i said earlier, that is pretty much a given unless Covid blows itself out. People just aren't disciplined enough to prevent it. Plus whilst a vaccine will undoubtedly come to market at some point, its chances of being either good enough to create herd immunity or indeed, supplied to all lower to middle income countries in a fair manner, are extremely low.
All of that said, GDR sales to date may still disappoint some or the time to implement may take longer than anticipated. Nobody knows until the update come out, which has clearly been signposted /thank you GDR) and at the very least it is worth waiting for.
The key part of the actual update when it comes, will be the expected roll outs for those markets where GDR can really excel but even then, it will take time to gain traction there. Hence why progress can only really be judged at c. 6 months in but nobody wants to hear that do they?
He did, we can expect to record first sales in June, I expected an announcement in June, soo ****ed off! The placing was announced 5th May and we are still feeling the pain, absolute omnishambles...
Well, me for starters. I am sure there were people saying the same thing.
The evidence that it was never going to be achievable is only provided to you by hindsight. Given the timescales that NCYT saw post CE Marking, it was quite reasonable to assume similar for GDR.
There is no evidence he didn't understand the process. At worst he was overly optimistic.
He didn't lie.
And all their pr machine has to say is it's retail bailing out... They are all full of s h I t
Who's we?
Are people finally agreeing with those of us who last week were saying that we had no sales in June?
As always we encountered some resistance but turns out we were right yet again.
For once myself and Magsy are in alignment on something. Yes DB with all the information available to him made the the statement of potential first sales in June. Yet the evidence is turning out to be that was never going to be achievable. Either way it looks bad for DB, either he didn't understand the process or he deliberately lied when he said significant sales in June. I'd be surprised if he lied so I am assuming he was just naive to the process which now means we can't fully trust what he says going forward. GDR needs to produce sales and quickly.
We all want GDR to be a success.
The issue is that we have been told intial sales would be June and announced early July.
No approvals since CE Mark and 2 trading days from Missing that sales deadline (and that is being generous).
It's frustrating.
I do believe that there is still potential in this company to bring me some returns else I wouldn't remain invested.
My primary concern is that the CEO's confidence in getting sales in June was misplaced. He has more information than all of us on here and he got it wrong.
