Election is coming in Russia and Putin losing support because of Alexei Navalny. Brainwashing whole country trough state media that Ukraine is preparing to attack. I doubt there will be a war, but it will drag for a while i think
I too bought a few today, far less than original stake, dropped it by 92% I’m value between before and now.
I’ll put the isa divi amount in tomorrow also, the sipp amount I’ll place in something else and see how we get on.
We are tore around a very good business unfortunately located in the wrong place!! Gla
I do feel it's worth pointing out that if you are actually going to attack someone, the last thing you will do is have it all over the media.
I'm pleased I didn't sell. Thought it may drop more in which case I would have added a small addition but happy to let this ride as still feel that soon some other threat will be on the news, probably about how china are about to invade taiwan.
Never forget the media wants to scare people that's how it gets more views and clicks.
..Is definitely anyone guess but my gut feeling tells me that is unlikely a Russian attack will take place, it would be too dangerous and not worthwhile. Possibly as long as Putin can keep Crimea with its Russian navy base, will do. Even more now that US with Biden are officially involved. The best way out for Putin will be some negotiation trying to get some more concession out of Ukraine. Even if that doesn't work out, Putin has had his show of strength and that will please his hard line at home, then the Russian separatist rebel can keep fighting as it has been for years since 2014. As I posted much earlier it would be really fundamental to understand the reason why all this has started (Russian troops at the border). I am willing to think that the Russian have been somehow provoked by the Ukraine presidency, either to move forward Ukraine Nato membership or some other political home gains. Don't get me wrong I am aware that there are real and dangerous problems in the disputed regions of Ukraine but it has gone on for years, why now this escalation?============================
This is what the Russian claim is the reason for troops at the borders:
Moscow said the deployments were a reaction to what it claimed were Nato plans to move troops closer to Russia’s borders in the Baltic and Black Sea regions.
=========
It means that if NATO doesn't start Russia won't either. Anyhow back on Fxpo sp I was expecting a much bigger retracement but on the technical it looks that 355 was the bottom and is now making higher lows, add to that Biden involvement hence a small buy from me.
Next full moon is April 27th. Ground should be drier by then. Just a guess but this is when I expect it to kick off.
IMO, it's too early to buy back in; the crisis hasn't arrived yet.
In essence, the key question is whether Ukraine is a truly independent country, or whether it is a Russian vassal state. If Ukraine agrees to defer to Russia in its international relations (i.e. no Nato, no EU etc.), and to make concessions regarding the Crimea and the Donbass, then I think Putin would be happy with that and back off. But Ukrainian society (which admires Europe, and which rather likes freedom and democracy) simply will not accept those terms.
So, IMO, there will be a test of strength before any resolution is reached. And, yes, the Ukrainian Army is in a better state than it was in 2014, but that is saying very little. It is no match for a determined Russian military offensive.
Looking at the disposition of forces, and especially the Russian concentration around Voronezh and the naval deployments, I'd guess the Russian attack plan is to use the Donbass front to pin the Ukrainian army in place. That would be followed by a strike towards Kharkov and the Dniepr and an amphibious assault on the Azov Sea coast near Mariopol, leading to the encirclement of the Ukrainian Army. Honestly, even if the Ukrainians know that is what is coming, they probably couldn't stop it.
Two quotes for you:
Herodotus (the father of history): "the strong take what they can and the weak suffer what they must."
Putin: "The strong push the weak against the wall and fcuk them up the ass." (This from an individual of minuscule stature who was viciously bullied as a child, before he decided the best way to do his own bullying was to join the biggest and baddest gang of them all, the KGB.)
Bought today small amount. Biden phone call, iron ore price and sp action gave me hope for a slow recovery in price...
