From what I've heard on here over the past few months on here it looks like the Hope case is just needing to be trundled along till the arbitration was sorted. The arbitration was supposed to be sorted in November but one outstanding issue remained. Hence why the Hope matter couldn't be wound up then probably through lack of money for a settlement payout. If Frontera can get the VAT back in Arbitration it believes it is owed and/or a deal with a Major agreed then a settlement can be made with Hope. From what I hear on here the Arbitration will now hopefully be settled in January fully, hence why FRR are continuing to jog along with the Hope case till after that has passed. If that's the case then likelihood is that they just need any lawyers name to put down, someone just to jog along with it till the appropriate time.
Incidentally, Mr. Kornblum's C.V. starts in 1962 with military service, so his age is probably about 72 to 74.
I was only joking !!!
It's been another of those uppy downy days.
FFs how long is this going to go on for, seems endless already.
Can't wait for the 24th.....2025. :))
If you stick his name on twitter you will see he got a gold award in 2019 frommPremier Lawyers in YS which represents top 1% of lawyers so think he is very good but at 84 he won’t be referring to Star Wars but World War 2.
For Ivy, read Bezzy. Sorry to you both!
Mr Kornblum's got a great looking C.V. which covers over 50 years of work. But his recent employment, as Ivy points out, seems to concentrate on insurance litigation (some distance from FRR's matters). For what very little it's worth, I'm not too concerned about this as the case is currently going through a quiescent phase and he should be more than capable of ably dealing with routine court matters.
If attack-dog trial lawyers are required at a later date, then they can be hired nearer the time, when money should hopefully be more available. Hiring such expensive expertise at the moment would probably be a waste of scarce resources.
Look at page 2 of the CV - Best lawyers in America; Top attorney's of North America; Lawyer of Distinction; Listed in Global Who's Who Best Lawyer; etc. etc. This is not an ambulance chaser run of the mill lawyer.
Bezzy: agreed.
In this instance we want out, and have been instructed to get a lawyer, with a deadline.
We can't afford a decent lawyer and, I'm guessing, a decent lawyer would want to do due diligence and charge the Earth.
So probably the sensible way to go...
Bwtfdik
Ivy if you think he looked about 78 in 2013 then he is 84 now.
Crikey, if he is having to work that long to get a pension then he must be some sooper dooper lawyer.
Mind you, if you're not gonna pay someone chose a lawyer who is likely to fall off the perch waiting.
Only joking .... honest.
Please forgive my negativity here (as most will know I'm a "Zaza flag-flying-cheerleader"), but f**k me - this guy is an ambulance chaser, is he not? I know we appear to have screwed a few lawyers over, but this guy.....?
"He specializes in a wide range of civil litigation, including serious injury and wrongful death, financial and physical elder abuse, medical and legal malpractice and all aspects of insurance including “bad faith” claims."
Bezzy
I'm sorry guys, but posting stuff from lawyers' blogs is always going to show them in a great light. We should remember how some said that the other firm were the bee's knees and then they went in with all that Star Wars crap.
Lawyers are just in it for the money.
Period.
In that respect maybe we aren't the best client ;).

The'Best Lawyers in America' don't take on cases they don't think they will win or not get paid for IMHO (see page 2 of the CV posted by Grayhorse). Also interesting is that G. O. Kornblum served as a 1st Lt. in Army Intelligence, especially with FRR's past links to the CIA (see page 1 of the CV).

Love the way he starts off by saying no one wants to go through litigation can just imagine Zaza saying we love it lol
Same fashion style as a young Alan Partridge !
Very experienced but must be about 78 o perhaps one big last pay day before retirement to supplement the pension.
In same boat as a few on here lol
A new set of attorneys to stiff. Kornblum better have gotten a large retainer up front.
New doc. 61 of the fiduciary case in California - no immediate cause for concern as far as I can see. The new attorney for FRR hereby officially signs in. He is Guy O. Kornblum of Kornblum, Cochran, Erikson & Harbison LLP of San Francisco.
