Have thrown in the towel as Flybe have ceased trading again. Given they participated in its initial downfall and seemed to conspire against the original investors it seems they have their come uppence at last. Sympathy for long suffering employees. Will it be renamed Phoenix?
From news article;
In October 2020 it was sold to Thyme Opco Ltd, a firm controlled by Cyrus Capital, and in April 2022 it resumed flights, albeit on a smaller scale.
Flybe's demise contrasts with a post-pandemic pick-up in demand for air travel
Down the pan again ;-)
parmxz, as i recall a guy called Tom was soldering on with a claim against the bod and was seeking to claim from the directors [insurance] for their misdemeanours. The last i heard was that he was seeking legal opinion and I am unsure where he got to. Problem with litigation is the upfront cost obviously.
Anyone know what happened with the legal proceedings?
Now based in Birmingham - good luck to the new team.
Virgin more karma.
An effort by Virgin Atlantic to raise £400m in rescue funding has been thrown into doubt by fears of new travel curbs, raising concerns among industry observers about its prospects over winter. Sir Richard Branson's airline has been in talks with existing shareholders and lenders over a cash lifeline in recent weeks, after extended restrictions on travel from the UK to the United States forced it to shelve plans for a public listing. - Telegraph
I hope it works out for the employees of the new outfit and I hope cyrus lose out as the years go by because of their past actions.
so Flybe have been revived huh

BBC news “ Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Atlantic is exploring a possible listing on the London stock market to raise money to repair the airline's finances.”
And let the new shareholders bail out the Airline!
Good to see 'em get their come-uppence!
Esken group[ formerley stobart ] raising capital at between 14 and 16p per share as a consequence of needing cash short term . What a couple of years it has been for all the actors in the flybe saga!
Stobart air now in liquidation - more karma it seems. Cyrus capital look to have lost Heathrow slots. The bad news here is that many more people will be losing their jobs and the pain occuring in the wrong places imv.
Karma- The perilous state of Virgin Atlantic's finances have been laid bare in new documents as it battles to open its key US routes this summer. The papers reveal the airline's survival would be at risk if travel restrictions are lifted more slowly than expected or if the UK faces another lockdown this year. Directors called this a 'severe but plausible' worst case scenario and said it could force the airline to raise more cash from shareholders or go through 'significant restructuring'. - Financial Mail on Sunday
Cyrus capital is taking over the company - perhaps it should be rebranded phoenix.
Another cash raise for Virgin Atlantic - airline woes continue.

Hedge fund buy out hopes to flymaybe next year.

Interesting how former directors are in talks with Lucien Farrell.
Anyone seen this mornings news?
If successful then this would open the door to further claims against the former directors of the company.
