I started investing in Ezj in 2014 it was a disaster until I bought right issue Then in mid April I thought they are a cert but its been a rollercoaster I am now back in profit and think it's going to be a couple of months before they take off again ? Seems B of A as been buying again maybe bankrolling someone
He just tells lies - take a look at some of his stupid comments over the past few years …taxing fat people and environmentalists, no refunds! He engages mouth before brain - although he thinks it’s brinkmanship he ends up damaging the whole sector! If he weren’t the head of the best in show airline, he’d be a laughing stock! Personal don’t fly Ryanair as it reminds me of prodding cattle onto a container to market. I think he’ll do a Gerald Ratner one day and that will be the end of him!
Hope we all survived :)
Avoid ryanair and anyone who reads the IAG rns today will see they say summer demand remains strong , code for don9 believe Oleary!
@stille, appreciate the sentiment but not really interested in adding moee re of this share. It’s been long enough and the turnaround should’ve happened by now or at least started.
Strong demand for travel has helped to deliver a very good first quarter and we are well-positioned for the summer
Summary
• Strong demand across our airlines has driven higher revenue, positive unit revenue and, alongside our transformation benefits, increased operating profit in the first quarter of 2024
• Operating profit before exceptional items of €68 million (Q1 2023: €9 million), an increase of €59 million
• We continue to invest in our core markets, with 7.0% passenger capacity growth vs Q1 2023
• Non-fuel unit costs in the quarter were as expected. They reflect planned investment to deliver customer benefits and operational efficiency, as well as the annualised impact of 2023 pay deals; no change to expectations for the full year
• Our balance sheet continues to strengthen, benefitting from strong profit and cash performance as well as seasonality: net debt to EBITDA before exceptional items of 1.3 times (31 December 2023: 1.7 times, 31 March 2023: 2.1 times)
• We are well-positioned for the summer

Luis Gallego, IAG Chief Executive Officer, said:
"Our transformation initiatives and increased demand, including over the Easter holidays, have delivered another very good set of results with improvements to both revenue and operating profit.
"Our Group benefits from the strength of our core markets - North Atlantic, South Atlantic and intra-Europe - and the performance of our brands. Investment across the Group in transformation is delivering encouraging improvements in punctuality and customer experience at our airlines. IAG Loyalty continues to perform very well.
"We are well-positioned for the summer. The high demand for travel is a continuing trend."
Airbnb: Their fees are staggering. We can be talking 10 to 20% of the hosts price to you. Then you have cleaning fees with local tourist taxes on top! This has to tank at some point as their reason for living is based on fees that are not sustainable (to the working man/woman/family).
Easyjet App: If you want to to book a european holiday then this is the bees knees. It's beyond simple and with this in mind you could not help yourself and hit the buy button. It's what excites me about the future growth for EZJ along with its very strong brand awareness. Give it a dry run...and pass your thoughts.
100% agree. Should be renamed potluck.com
Airbnb is overhyped. It's just an American holiday let company, which has infiltrated European markets, despite there being plenty of alternative rental companies.
I've tried them a couple of times and was hugely disappointed. The places (both in Italy) looked great in the photos, but were very different in real life. One was near a college in Florence, with students and noise all night long, the other was in Pisa away from the city centre, which I thought might be good for a larger apartment with extra space, but there was nothing in the local neighbourhood in terms of restaurants etc. The beds weren't comfy. I'm never booking one again - there are too many people trying to make some money out of this and the original model has failed.
Airbnb won't affect EZJ - there are plenty of other holiday lets around.
“ How to avoid Boeing 737 Max planes. By booking flights online, travelers can weed out any Boeing aircraft. Alternative Airlines launched a new tool customers can use to automatically remove flights operated by all Boeing 737 Max planes.17 Apr 2024” From the Times
Down 9% on forward guidance. That’s a big move and maybe reflects fact people would rather be sure of their costs of a holiday….the massive tv ad campaign is not working. Just an observation. Expecting ezj to open flat today.
NuckyT
Yes brutal. But this is airlines for you! Maybe time to trade your position? Get your average down! GL
Morning Douggzy
I don’t remember where I read it but here is copy from September 2021 from the guardian - it was a fight over how many planes they should buy. The board won out. Been in and out of ezj since 2013 so tend to read most stuff…can’t help sorry -maybe was just impression I got that peace had broken out between Stelios and the board.
“ EasyJet shares fell 9% on Thursday and it is now trading at less than half its pre-Covid value. Haji-Ioannou has indicated that he won’t invest any more money in it until it cancels its Airbus orders for more A321s – meaning his 25% stake will be diluted to 15% after the rights issue” (Guardian September 2021)
Travel Weekly 4 March 2024 Repeat of Sunday Times art where Stelio's praises board for getting ezj back in Footsie Starting package hold and divi Ends by saying Stelio's first time spoke about board since he did and why he criticize them in 2020 and says he's made peace So I was right I need to know where when he made peace in Summer 2023
Brutal share
I quote the Sharecast news of 3 March 2024 on hl.co.uk of Sunday newspaper saying is latest comments were he called the board scoundrels and he had made peace U could be right but someone is maniping the SP the last 3 weks
As many of us said yesterday that sh it jet would be back up by 5% from the low of 500p. Overreaction to a twit M.O ... I really hate that guy

Goodnight all…pjs on…tomorrow is another day :)
@Douggzy
I thought Stelios made his peace with the board last summer? Clearly am not paying attention!
All same think he’s peed off with SP and mentioned getting listed in US relatively recently. We wait and see.
It all started the 15 of April Just before the good results When Stelio’s made his peace with the board
Who could they possibly be dealing for, if not Stelios? He and his brother sitting on > 15%
Yes something as been going on with B of A in April with all those Swop s yet last week they sold 3m one day Who are they dealing for
They upped their stake in EZJ, that's about as exciting as it gets
With Stelios/Bank of America?
Georgew1995, hopefully no relation to CW1996, what a complete bafoon that guy was.
