Apologies for coming back to this subject, (as I have been out on my constitutional). All the mention of our different methods of lestening the burden of CGT, brings us to the question- would the Chancellor scrap any of these? Now,unless he completely and utterly throws convention out of the window, he cannot interfere with what is sacrosanct in this financial year ie till April 5th.The change of rules would commence then, with those who had previously taken these schemes still be able to benefit, but not able to add to them. That is the historic situation, so let's hope he adheres to it!
Afternoon All
Tied up grafting elsewhere , had my eye on the compass & MMs still holding the keys to the gunpowder shed on lowish volume - however
1.4million Mia today so again highlights -Accumulation- perhaps a few getting bored & waving the white flag gifting the mms the stock -
I would expect further Kippers turning up later on deck .
All very positive in my eyes & still treading water in this pre- incoming deal accumulation period .
Rums & creaking Hammocks all round
Think we are mixing a tax discussion in with an EUA discussion.
EUA timelines are not for us to no (at least not yet)
Tax changes at April again not for us to know, but a tax charge of nearer 40% than 20% is highly possible & imo to be avoided even if EUA goes to the moon. As risks stay the same but reward could be reduced by 20% - therefore a sell trigger.
' So I do not think this can happen until April 2022.'
This is an international trade deal asset based in Russia just because EUA has a listing in the UK is totally immaterial to when the trade deal is done, private company private entity the state has no bearing on EUA mercifully.
Also whilst on the subject, ive heard these think tank whisperings about cutting CGT tax free thresholds £13,500, which seems contra to bringing alignment to Income tax, where there is also a tax free thresholds - all smacks of money grab vs fairness - either way structured in place ready for dump (all shares not just EUA) by Feb/Mar 21.
"So I do not think this can happen until April 2022."
Surely you mean April 21, anyway Feb/Mar 21 is the death knell for my Sock Trading account (emptying the lot - only trust Sunak to grab cash from whoever has it) - I'll carry on with the ISA & SIPP (cause I carnt draw it yet, but have cut contributions to £Nil - I'd rather pay income tax today vs whatever happens in the future)
Historically ,tax rates change from April 6th,apart, of course, from VAT, which can be changed almost immediately. That ,in the past has caused mayhem for the relevant authorities, so a change in CGT half way through the tax year would be virtually impossible and would cause a very significant problem for landlords who are deeply under the cosh with present legislation and would excasibate the situation ,resulting in a massive increase in homelessness. So I do not think this can happen until April 2022.
Yeh I’m hoping it gets finalised fairly soon. Don’t want to be giving Sunny my gains, but also don’t want to have to sell out early to avoid giving it to him either.
A bit more activity last ten minutes
Hawkspear, my wife is also invested.....she likes to read the BB but, prefers not to comment (but constantly gives me the earache)...besides, there isn't enough space !!
FFS somebody take the handbrake off, it's like a bushtucker trial.
I'm more concerned that without some fruity news soon we will all have scurvy!
DB9 perhaps she's checking up on you? Hope you haven't said anything out of order.
WE have been becalmed nearly all year lol, and for storm nothing on the horizon yet Capt.
Sorry back from my latest ban - im still here.
My mrs managed to access & read the BB....without an account ?!
The DFS for WK was guided by the end of the year so we have that at least!!!!!! I cant remember who it was, but they outlined that WK had a lot of metals other than PGMs and the additional acreage under review for the DFS could be eyepopping.
With Rhodium prices climbing we are all getting wealthier, its just not reflected in the SP yet!!!
Cheer up everyone at least LSE is still working, can't believe it myself some kind of miracle in itself. Anyway let's get this ship underway and stop ya snivelling this is going all the way, keep the faith!
