Slightly lazy wording in 17.48 post. If my daughter's flatmate comes up as Covid positive from the PCR my daughter carries on as usual unless she shows symptoms. If her flatmate has Omicron then my daughter will have to self-isolate. She is wearing a mask indoors. They cover themselves and I've only had one PCR in the past and it took about 18 hours to get the result. The centre I took my daughter to for the PCR wasn't busy with lots of slots. The lateral flow tests are free and all you need is the QR Reader. I didn't have one but the chemist gave me a box in exasperation. There are 7 in a box. My daughter got 2 boxes.
*I now have a QR reader so inching forward technologically.
Romaron…. The most incredibly pathetic and dangerous of all your thousands of lunatic posts… To deride Covid and its latest variants and compare it to dangers of aspirin is as farcical and selfish as any post I have ever seen. If you think the millions of people who died, millions more left with scars from it and unable to function properly is all a joke, I suggest you look at yourself in the mirror. You would say that you don’t like what you see. To minimise Covid to reassure yourself and your fellow rampers that ENQUEST will soon join the 60 party that you have all been celebrating for a dozen years now, is both farcical and irresponsible. I know of many people who died of Covid. One customer came to me crying and said her 40 year old husband as fit as a fiddle, strong and healthy, with no health issues whatsoever, had died of Covid. Aspirins would not have killed him. Do the only sensible thing and delete your post or apologise to all involved
- but don't make any money here" is not a compelling message but in today's ST Oliver Shah says what other reading is there of the Shell/Cambo decision. The plan was for Neo to move in buying all or some of Siccar Point's 70 per cent and Shell manage the project. Shell didn't want the match ball following the Jackdaw refusal by Opred and I do have some sympathy. You cannot deal with indoctrinated opposition who are led by belief rather than economics and realities. The deal doesn't stand the scrutiny of the cold lamp of reality. As van Beurden pointed out in October: "If you just squeeze off supply and hope that demand will follow, this is how it feels like. We have to tackle the demand." Good luck with that. Even Omicron isn't making sense which brings me to my second gripe.
My daughter came home for today and got a message that one of her flatmates has Covid. The flatmate had a clear lateral flow Friday but positive today. The flatmate went for a PCR and will likely know the result tomorrow. My daughter had a clear lateral flow and I took her for a precautionary PCR at 16.30.
Why am I mentioning it? I have cancelled an electrician tomorrow morning as his wife is vulnerable. I am looking forward to a West End trip tomorrow afternoon/evening that could be at risk and do I cancel the decorator for Thu/Fri. Even worse for my daughter. She cancelled a short trip to Venice with her boyfriend as an enforced 10 day quarantine if infected was too risky. She has a party tomorrow night and an award event for which she is short listed on Wednesday. Will she be able to go? Another flatmate may have to cancel a model assignment to Portugal. My best pal has lost £10k on an Austrian family Christmas.
People won't put up with this much longer. The world's gone crazy. If its only Covid my daughter carries on as normal unless she shows symptoms. If it is Omicron she has to self-isolate and wear a bell (the bell's a joke). So far Omicron is highly transmissible but not lethal. It is just the huge numbers involved. Aspirins can kill and if the whole world took them then the numbers would go higher. Would that also be called a pandemic? I will cooperate with the "expert" advice because I care about vulnerable people but if I find the "experts" have got it wrong then I, along with millions of others, will get my revenge at the ballot box. I'm sick of being told how to live my life by self-interest groups.
Here endeth today's lesson.
