Still here big time, starvinmarvin. I did de-risk way back in the Spring but at these prices and degree of oversold technically, I've just reloaded to the hilt. Fingers crossed, as you all say.
“Could be stench of burning shorts in an hour or so given the rebound on TSX yesterday.”
Possibly, a flash crash is often used by market makers to take out stops and fill a depleted order book. Remember they can see stop prices. You won’t find this written anywhere as it is my comment from experience. Some refer to it as a bear raid, so as it has a term it implies it happens. Remember ECO is traded on SETSqx so there is appropriate intervention from market makers, more so than on a main market due to liquidity. The TSX trades may have resulted in a thin book, following how bullish it was there for longer.
I note other posters have commented that they had also derisked. Nice to have some balance here.

Ps. Itsyou, OT, Patrick Shoon-Shiong 21%! Lol!
Hi Starvinmarvin,
Still here and read every post. Like others I also de-risked. Probably way too much, but was a little disappointed that the predicted size of HH by commentators/media wasn't half on Orinduik, but just the tail when the latest CPR was issued.
Anyway, HH is just the sideshow and there's really nothing more that can be said about Jethro!
Going forward, the big one for me will be the Repsol/TLW drill on Carapa, which will prove that oil was trapped up dip in the cretaceous zone when flowing down the slope. My cash on the sidelines will then be put back in, as the size of the Orinduik cretaceous targets dwarf the tertiary ones :-)
Fingers x'd

Hi Starvinmarvin, good to see you are still around. Those two are still around but only post when they have something to say or ask. I don't have comms with them off line so no idea of their position here. I de-risked last year, still have a decent lump of stock. I've been waiting for this 'elephant hunt' for 7 years. Thought it was going to be in Namibia! Now it's in Guyana. Can't wait for the results next month. Management see v confident they will find a nice pool of oil. Crossed fingers
Bang on mate! Btw, have you or older&wiser been in contact with 'itsyou'? He has been AWOL for sometime now!
Think it's safe to say it didnt get "smoked" in the end.
I have been trying to look back at trades on TSX today but the two sites I found only show the last 25 trades, and on one the scrolling doesn’t work. Anyone have a link? Trek
Bizarre price action
If that’s not a bullish reversal then I don’t know what is!
Tsx closed 1.21, flat. Fell roughly 15% today
Hi hereandnow,
‘ You are either in it for the drilling results on either one or both of these wells or you are not.’
Unfortunately it’s never that simple, the money made here thus far has been by those in early and sold ahead of spud news. In the Falklands campaign many did better by selling before the drill results and those that just bought and held did not fair so well. Timing is everything. Whilst I do agree with your Hammerhead comment unfortunately the perceived delays play on sentiment, another known unknown in this mine field. GL with all our investments here. Trek
The amount of garbage spewed out on this BB day after day. You are either in it for the drilling results on either one or both of these wells or you are not.
As has been stated by the company, they will publish the results of the well once completed.
Hammerhead results would be great to know but, they are not material to a giant like Exxon so they can publish those results and their conclusions when they feel like it.
Everything else is ******
