Cruise ships have for some time been referred to as floating Petri dishes, (in)famously spreading Norovirus and E. coli to captive passengers. Am I right in thinking that I heard DV’s technology is already proven re E. coli or did I imagine it? I appreciate that COVID testing is going to be a major aspect if not critical to cruises getting underway again but surely the other threats remain. Surely this is where DV should be pitching BT to the cruise industry if BT is already proven in that area? Perhaps they are. Is the E. coli testing proven in the water monitoring technology only? If 10,000s of people can attend sports events in the UK by undergoing traditional testing prior to entry, then surely a few 1,000s can board a ship departing from the UK using the same method. Notwithstanding the complications of calling at ports in other countries and the consequent COVID threat to all on board, surely some measure of traditional testing will come into play (LF test before disembarking at a stop off port, LF test before getting back on the ship at that same port). Yes, BT would make this a whole lot simpler and no doubt be more accurate but I am inclined to agree with the other commentators who suggest that DV have missed the boat here (pun intended :-) ).
Don't recall this being posted, dating to 13 April 2021:
"Created by BioSafety Technologies and approved by the Conformitè Europëenne (CE), the non-invasive breathalyser technology, which is both scalable and portable, delivers results within 45 seconds."
https://vikand.com/press-releases/intercruises-and-vikand-join-forces-to-deliver-innovative-covid-19-testing-solution-at-cruise-terminals/
Perhaps the more interesting bit from above is:
"Trialled on over 10,000 individuals during worldwide pilot program and validated by PCR testing."

Breath acceptable to ports so that's positive. On board makes sense. But cruise industry can't have BT until testing complete...

Good morning
IMHO and FWIW, The breathalyser, specifically for Covid and links to the cruise industry seems to have lost impetus around November 2020 with the advent of vaccines and proposed vaccine passports. Since then, DVRG and Ecowater OS have aimed the device more broadly at a 'multi pathogen breathalyser device' which now includes cancer etc. It also seems they are now aiming this at the health industry.
If you believe this to be a failure, fair enough, I believe it to be 'managing resources and refocusing due to a changing and evolving landscape'
Wastewater detection and the cruise ship sector seems to be still on going and evolving and still seems a perfect fit, GB has confirmed that country politics/jurisdictions are a factor with regards implementation and timescales. The cruise industry is still struggling and they will be keen for proven methods of virus control or pathogen detection. DVRG will be in the mix no doubt!!
Either way, the road map and focus for the next 12 months has been clearly defined, the past is where it should be!!
All the best going forwards.
Chuck if you go through GBs previous presentations the cruise market was left, right and centre of sales. For both the breathalyser and waste water testing. As is so often the case GB pumps and pumps then fails to deliver.
No wonder more and more people do not believe a word he says.
It was always a long shot cruises too complicated. Luckily they have some other rabbits to pull out of the hat and not just one or two.
So just read in the news that International Cruises are going to start from the UK from Aug 2nd onwards …
Surprise surprise another false promise by GB and a wasted journey down the garden path that leads to no where…
So many times it was mentioned by GB yet once again he has nothing to back up his claims …
I wonder how many more of his claims he won’t be able to deliver on….
