Hello Colour, when you talk in if's and but's like that I am quite happy.
If CC RF was going to get punished in India you would have been rolling it out in detail.
I thought Mysore was leading the way but the new Omni in Indore was better still.
The pair are doing well with Canopy and CC will probably get the whole Utility.
That could become the pattern if OPEX takes off as saves individual part orders.
I'm happy are you.
DYOR
Don't you worry tonlie. I found Wirepas on a general Google search, no information about how some big players in India are getting really excited in their offer, and are bewildered how good the bench tests are, nothing like that. Go back to tonlie land. Your happy place is Indore, and you could talk some more on GCHQ, that was always a good comfort blanket.
Hello Colour, nothing obvious about your reasons other than Wirepas are not in India otheriwise you would have been parading the fact. I think our audience would be interested to know the situation regarding India, it being our greatest opportunity. As you brought up the challenge of Wirepas do tell our BB if we currently have competition in India from Wirepas. It was not long back that you said we did not stand a chance with CC RF and EESL.
DYOR,
Nowt to do with Smart Metering though.
CB,
The information I provided was not specifically for you or tonyj. But for anyone that is interested. I thought the additional information on Partners, was relevant and the BeaconTrax/Wirepas connection gave an insight into some of the products/solutions they are both connected with.
LTI.
I can answer tonlie, I just choose not to for obvious reasons. LTI feels the need to boil it all down for you, which really does you no favours as you should be able to do things yourself by now. As a retired Civil Servant though, I doubt you will complain.
Pedro is keeping low LOL.
Good afternoon all,
I followed up on the Wirepas connection CB posted some months ago.
Within the information that CB has posted, it confirms that " Wirepas is deployed in significant volumes by 50 utilities, in Nordic regions." So I might suggest that with the Connode connection, to Nordic regions, that CyanConnode are aware of Wirepas.
I notice also from the literature that CB posted from Wirepas, that " All the gateways can support IPv4 or IPv6." It is my understanding from information over the years, supporting IPv4 or IPv6, does not neccessarily mean that your product/solution is IPv4/IPv6. Just that it supports it. Also, I believe that your product/solution has to be IPv6 to get into India. Especially concerning smart meters.
With the number of meters required in India specifically, there will be many opportunities for Companies of all types, including RF companies. So competition will definitely grow.
Also I have provided some information on Wirepas Partners. There is non on the list that are familiar me. So maybe Wirepas are targeting a different market within the smart grid/smart meter sphere. I will leave that for another day.

Also some information on a Company called BeaconTrax, a Canadian Company I believe, which also has Wirepas connections.

LTI.
Don't you just love it. He cannot answer. Suggest you shut up for good and buy a few CC shares, you know you want to.
Things take a long time in India but with Indore and Mysore CC RF has cracked it and orders are repeating.
As I see it it's a matter of churning the Units out, a nice thought.
DYOR
Your best bet is nipping over to Frankfurt tonlie.
That's all well and good Colour but what I asked you is are they involved in any contracts or tenders in India and are they involved with EESL As you say simple so possibly simple answer. If they are not then do not worry onlookers.
You and I both know it takes years to be accepted in India. Currently CC are in with the 3 biggest manufacturers in India covering 50% of the market. Need I say more. Utilities that are using CC RF are making money quickly, never been done before.
DYOR
It's fine guys. I will keep all present, and future, detail with me.
There's no competition out there at all.
We’ve now established we’re light years ahead of wirepas in our target market and we’re also wining orders in their target market.
Do they have deployments in India CB? Have they been involved in any tenders, pilots? Do they have any orders? I suspect the answer is “No” but thanks for bringing them to our attention and highlighting that they might only be at the start of a very long painful journey.
The figures posted are right up to last month tonlie, how's that historical? I won't be spoon feeding you too much but I was given information, maybe 9 months ago, by 2 Techies in India. One has a very, very interesting CV !! Both are talking about Wirepas, both are saying they have not seen the likes before.
You can see their route to market. They are becoming well known in India and the region as a whole. They have probably never heard of CC, but I will be amazed if CC, and Anil, are not watching them closely.
Exactly Tony, they seem to focus on the Nordic market. We really shouldn’t have won business in the Nordic’s as we did last July. That should be Wirepas’ order. How dare we.
Well Colour now that you are coming away from historical facts and figures which are truly past considering the current contracts that are in progress you now start on about Wirepas. To your knowledge do CC have opposition in India from Wirepas. Are they involved in any contracts or tenders in India and are they involved with EESL.
If no then not worth being concerned about.
DYOR
I don’t believe I am CB. 700,000 smart meters.
Roddy, you are reading it wrong. 700k is just one Network.
Just trying to find their Indian Presence and how many tenders they have been involved with there. Back shortly.
I look your last post CB and get more excited about Cyan, thank you for bringing them to our attention and showing us how badly another company is doing with better tech
From their landing page “the worlds largest IOT mesh network of 700,000 smart meters” they maybe years ahead of anything else you have witnessed CB but looks like Cyan have better traction with deployments in India alone of 1m units. Hopefully you’ll be fully invested in them. Next.......
I've mentioned these guys before, usually when some believe CC have little competition. Anyone who really understands the Tech field that CC are going at, take a look at how this company addresses the problem.
https://wirepas.com/applications/smart-metering/
They are due in Frankfurt in October for Europe's largest IoT event. I have seen them before, and believe they are years ahead of anything else I have witnessed. This statement alone should confirm what they are about...
With Wirepas Mesh, up to 4 billion devices can operate in the same network, without any subnets. The network has multiple gateways transmitting the data to the cloud. The typical ratio is one gateway per 1000 smart meters for the 15min data reading, but this might vary depending on the additional data loads. Thanks to simple one network structure, there is no need for network planning or active network management.
