Nice post by latpulldown.
Hard to justify this move other than get attention drawn away from the christmas parties etc (in my opinion).
Covid cases have gone up but deaths and hospital admissions are still flat which is a good sign in my opinion. We need to allow a steady spread of the virus for herd immunity. Survival rate for this virus is astonishing when you look at the numbers.
Hold tight, we might see a drop tomorrow because of typical market sentiment atm but this will come good.
Dr John certainly deserves some recognition, hands down the best no bull info on covid out there
Do we really think this is going to stop people going to see Spiderman I don’t think so. Was it needed who knows I personally believe this is the end game. In a few weeks we could all be looking at a nice percentage increase on the share price. For all we know this variant may be the answer to less disease and getting rid of Delta . In the meantime my tickets are booked for next Wednesday to see Spiderman he wears a mask and so do I lol DYOR and Gl all.
Ones thing for sure these government characters will be on the phone to their brokers. Nice racket if you are part of it.
It's just such a shame, the whole Covid situation has become a huge political Trojan horse.
When this whole debacle started I thought something good might have come from it all, in saying that perhaps we have learnt that Government needs completely uprooted.
All the best mate.
FX_wizard - Dr John Campbell deserves a knighthood imo.
Most farcical news conference I have seen yet and I wasn't convinced that they had the data to justify this.
Still it leaves the journalists with a dilemma. Do they headline Plan B or Do they headline the supposedly countless Xmass parties that went on in Whitehall against the prevailing guidance at the time.
Light touch of having to wear face-masks might be a blessing in disguise. AMC / Odeon highlighted how this can benefit cinemas in their Q2b update this year.
“Compared to the second quarter of 2019, the domestic average ticket price was up more than 15%, and food and beverage revenue per patron was up nearly 42% to a very impressive $7.91. And this compares to $5.58 during the same quarter of 2019. Similarly, the international average ticket price was up 6%, and food and beverage revenue per patron was up nearly 33% compared to the second quarter of 2019. This food and beverage increase is primarily driven by a significantly higher percentage of guests choosing to purchase our food and beverage concessions."

Dr. John Campbell
Bodes well ... herd immunity incoming!!!
Unfortunately if we like it or not I think most here will be expecting some drop based on market sentiment alone.
Cine always gets kicked hard on bad news, the key is to see through it all and just look at the fundamentals.
Latest trading update will be a good place to start, and just type in spiderman and see what the Internet brings up.
Tomorrow might be a time to top up nothing else needed in my opinion.
Agree NOTHING CHANGED…..
Goldy I was just about to use the same title for my post!
Yes, nothing *much* changed for CINE.
I have seen people wearing masks still to see the movies. Me and my wife were wearing mask just 2 weeks back to watch the movie and there few others too wearing mask.
Our main market is US, nearly 80% revenue from US and Spiderman numbers will be smashing records in US. With Bond doing good in UK and not so much in US yet CINE turned cash flow positive and with the December movies, we will make money.
Trolls who are not invested want to spread the FUD.
Despite whatever I write or what others write, there will be panic. I'm not selling.
Just remember, we were closed last year and still went up to 122p. I will post the advance bookings for the weekend movies like I did for Leicester Sq and Sheffield.
Won’t be surprised if this go up tomorrow.
