One of my friends Steve I went to see him. He was armed with a disinfectant spray spraying around him and around me.
Can u see why the government need to state 100 percent of u with mild symptoms are not recorded.
Everyone would then go oh, then next time pubs etc are open go for a meal....get back to life ASAP.
Hi Matt re "look at wolfie on here scared to death and shackled in his home"
If I've given you that impression, its incorrect. I'm just following the Gnmt's advice, going out only when its necessary - now my Sister in Law ......
dear life....not death life.
the psychological impact of reading official numbers to deaths is having an terrifying impact on normally intelligent people.
its why the government need to state hey cmon 100% mild symptoms not on list.
everyone breaths a sigh of relief then books a cruise or goes into the pub next time its open.
bald, not pointless though is it.
look at wolfie on here scared to death and shackled in his home for death life wondering if he is net to get a virus.
So just a pointless rant with no relevance to Carnival. Understood!!
it has a relevance to every moron thinking life is over and they wont do anything ever again.
this has an impact on everything, some people are scared out their minds witless, for no reason.
the government should state 100% of people with mild symptoms are not recorded, because they are not.
Seeing official numbers to deaths is having a psychological impact on normally intelligent people.
It's not only relevant to Carnival but everything.
MatW, last attempt.....what has that got to do with CCL?
bald, how clear can I make it 100% of the population with mild symptoms are not tested, treated and if u go anywhere near GP or hospital ur sent home.
Only the very serious are on the official figures.
This is relevant. cos we're in millions of cases already.
People panic tying official numbers to deaths when 100% of people with this virus and only mild symptoms are not in official cases.
MatW, I'm not sure what point you are trying to make. I said that the number of actual cases is going to be many times (possibly 20 or more) the number of recorded positive cases tested. What are you trying to say and what relevance is it to CCL?
bald, please listen, its spreading like wildfire. It means that more people have it in the time that flu comes around.
you do not get it...if you have this virus YOU CANNOT GO TO A GP, HOSPITAL OR PHARMACY.
These are the official rules, u have to self isolate for 7 days like i did.
If you go to any of these places u will be sent home and told to isolate for 7 days.
Only the seriously sick and the elite are on the official figures.
bald, sorry m8 but ur a pleb like I am not important. therefore u tie up the heal system with mild symptoms you will be chastised and told to bugger off home....this is the official guidance
Please read To protect others, do not go to a GP, pharmacy or hospital.
https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19
Now fill in that test see if you get self isolate 7 days.
MatW, the problem is that it's highly infectious. The population doesn't have ANY immunity against it. A lot of people will get sick in a very short period of time (millions), if even a small % needs hospitalisation then there is a danger that the NHS will get overwhelmed...then people will needlessly die. It really is as simple as that. Flatten the peak, reduce peak demand on the NHS, so that the sick can be treated...rather than left to die due to lack of equipment or staff.
So flatten the curve using whatever means possible. Ideally we would have prepared like Taiwan (who obviously knew it was coming). But alas we were busy fighting over Brexit & austerity.
I am stating millions have it. that its reproductive rate is much faster than flu.
therefore, it probably has a death rate of 0.1% like flu.
MatW, you confuse me. One minute you're saying that CoronaVirus is highly infectious, the next you're saying 'let's all go on a cruise together'. Seems a little disjointed to me.
The elderly suffer the worst consequences of the virus and they also seem to like going on cruises. Seems a little disjointed to me.
go watch the movie Contagion, always a great movie if you want to scare yourself witless.
a bundle of fun to learn about r0 numbers, level 4 areas etc
then compare the reproductive rates of those deaths to this.
day 1 flu 1.7*1.7*1.7 infinite reproductive spread rate.
this virus say 2.5*2.5*2.5 infinite reproductive spread rate.
therefore, the infection rate is much faster than flu.
flu has r0 number of 1.7. it means u spread it to 1.7 people. They cant even get numbers of flu right just between 9-45 million per year
this virus ro 2.2-3, they have no handle on its r0 number but ministers stated up to twice as prevalent as flu.
ministers also stated millions had it about 2 weeks ago.
its much more spreadable than flu.= millions already have it.
death rate is 3000/millions = not anything to be scared of.
bald, if u went to hospital or gp with mild symptoms, u'd be told to go home, u would not be tested.
There was a recent academic paper (Prof Gupta, Oxford Univ) that suggested that up to 50% of the UK population may have already been infected & recovered. It has been widely discredited...presumably for using false or inaccurate assumptions.
We have to believe the concensus of scientific opinion (UK government SAIG)....CSO Patrick Vallance suggeted on 12th March that estimated number of actual cases was 10-20 times tested cases. Although the testing regimen has changed somewhat since then this would imply that there are up to 700,000 actual cases in UK (20 x 33,718 = 674,000).
wolfie, please dont upset yourself looking at official figures believing we have a 10% death rate.
99.9% of people will not be tested due to the official guidelines in place.
No one is counted unless ur in serious condition, or the elite. We will have millions of cases and a much lower death rate.
55 Re "On all cruises I have been on previously sanitiser has been out". You are of course correct. However IMO that's enough for this virus, which may travel well over 2 m (in the air, obviously).
I am not trying to judge their culpability or otherwise for yet to be heard cases, on unknown bases at present. But they need to know. It all takes time is my point.
On all cruises I have been on previously sanitiser has been out, so I think they are always careful as anything can soon spread on a ship.
everyone and his dog will be trying it on claiming legal recourse, just like banks inundated with 3 month mortgage holidays.
A judge will look at Carnivals actions in preventing virus conditions and rule against everyone.
I am also not sure of a successful lawsuit against a company that as soon as virus was known.
Carnival engaged in their own hand sanitising customers. disinfecting ships and exercising social distancing.
A legal basis against a company that did everything they could to prevent virus conditions would probably fail bigtime.
Carnival could sue the USA Government for damages because they targeted and singled out cruises.
Every single transportation system will carry this virus .
It will be spreading it in the same manner with probably more numbers e;g busy London tube and NY subway system.
It does not really matter what Trump or anyone else thinks or does. No matter if there is a clamouring for cruising, in the end, subject to law and advice, internationally in some cases, it will be a decision for the company to make, and will be risk-based. The outcome of the many law-suits and the extent to which Carnival may or may not be culpable will inform that decision. I simply think that we are in the early days of a lengthy process.
