For anyone wanting to understand even more about another market - India, you could look at this presentation. It does not mention VRFB but it shows the potential of Energy Storage in one of the worlds fasted growing economies and populations.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJbg5m0-Xxc&t=0s
I have been in contact with Rahul from IESA and passed details to Bushveld Energy so they can talk about potential opportunities - of which there could be a lot!!
The presentation is run by the same company that presented the BESS Tender in SA! It is interesting. Hope it is helpful.
Cheers, RK
No don't - just defer until next week.
Everyone else please just DROP IT

Sharesaplenty. Given that you have now asked a question...and been given various answers, perhaps you could answer a question or two:
1. When did you invest?
2. If it was very recently, like the 12th November (when you created your LSE account name), why wait until 3 days later to post questions....surely you'd have been better asking before investing.
Sharesaplenty - So it sounds like you need to do some reading. To learn about VRFB you can look at this presentation: http://www.bushveldminerals.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Energy-storage-101..pdf - Clearly on the Bushveld Minerals website - this is a great place to start. One of many presentations available on all aspects of the business.
You can also look at this one from VSUN - also on VRFB from last week. https://www.australianvanadium.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/VSUN-Energy-Presentation-November-2019.pdf
I hope this helps. There really is so much information on VRFB's on all the manufactures websites if you need more.
Cheers, RK
AverageInvestor... nothing odd about it in the least... capa has had the same story to tell and been investing like this every other week... since forever! It gets responses...
It’s typical trolling ‘click bait’ or if you prefer ‘ honey trap’... no insults will deter him... it makes him smile! It what trolls do!
All very reasonably put and above board... now he’s got you roped in! He not smiling now... he’s curled up in a ball laughing like the drain he is!
Ophidian, I will and come back later next week if I have any questions I can't answer. Thank you all for your patience and signing off for today. Good weekend all
knuttie, I will reiterate judge my by my actions and not any preconceived perception. I really hope BMN flies upwards into 2020 and beyond
@sharesaplenty - IF you are genuine, you are not helping your case with this yap yap yap. Go do some proper research - it's easy to do and find info. If you really are from a scientific background then you will easly be able to formulate sensible, informed, balanced questions to pose. Right now you sound just like every other Johnny come lately Friday afternoon knocker we've been plagued by for months. My very strong suggestion to you is don't post again today, do some research and if you have real questions, come back and pose them next Monday. Between now and then any answers you may need are not going to make a material difference to your investment strategy for waiting a few hours, however, your credentials as a genuine potential future contributor will be massively enhanced. Just a suggestion in case you really are genuine.

Average investor. My investment is driven by the compelling story of BMN with V. Nice earner in steel, but the boomage potential for growth is the renewable power storage. I admit I haven't depth of research as many on this BB, but I'm keen and wish to learn more. I really see climate change rising up the political agenda and VRFB being a piece (potentially big piece) of the future jigsaw require for decarbonisation of energy. Given all you longtime BB members are so well knowledge I'm just asking for where the best tech info on VRFB is, in particular how its competes vs rival options
Well sharesaplenty we will see as I have reported you to admin for suspected multiple identities. so namesaplenty what.
I'm also working with public sector folk in my local area on future investments for renewable energy storage in chemicals manufacturing (I'm based in Scotland) and so far I've only heard mention of green H2 being mooted as the feedstock choice. I'm not even sure the team looking at the potential deployment options have considered VRFB.
It's just a bit odd that you've invested heavily into this company yet don't know what it's potential is. That's not investing, that's gambling.
It's lucky you've gambled on the odds-on horse in a very small race. But please do some of your own research into VFRBs, there is plenty out there as well as on this board.
I would ask you judge me by my actions and contribution to this BB over time not by other BB participants that may have trolled in the past. I work in the life science sector and so appreciate technical information on VRFB and how they measure up against alternatives for renewable power storage. Given my scientific background I work on evidence and data not hearsay/subjective opinion. I do think VRFB are the untold story for renewable power storage, but vs green hydrogen and other vectors the story is not so well known.
Cancel the if! Too much rubbish already.
Paranoid Halespur…. I have a sizeable BMN holding in my ISA account and do wish the value rises with my long holding position I seek. I can see a lot of future growth for BMN and like all the RNSs over recent months to develop the battery applications. This hostile language for entrant investors into BMN is really unhelpful. I would like to thank Alfacomp for his objective answering and lets try and avoid hostile subjective responses which are incorrect.
If & it is a big if I have misjudged your introduction I am happy to apologise unreservedly. To explain to a genuine newbie, this BB has been plagued by an infestation of sewer rats on a regular basis, one in particular who turns up with a new identity & I will out them at any given opportunity. If I upset the odd innocent person defending our cause so be it.
Was thinking knuttie was harsh. But when you see ‘I hope BMN reaches for the stars like you all keep saying’. It smacks that you aren’t invested as you wouldn’t have a clue why you have invested.
Also asking Ophidian to qualify his statement suggests enough that you are Capa.
‘ bullying you into BMN’ What drivel!
Thanks Alfacomp for the concise answer, I guess its a matter of horses for course in terms of deployment of H2 vs VRFB. I guess though charging/discharging efficiency is a big driver with VRFB winning on this basis.
How's Uncle Henry?
Nobody has done a comparative costing because they are clearly quite different things. Electrolysing water is only 50% efficient in terms of the energy you can store versus the energy that you have to put in. That is fine if you have free electricity and just want to warm your tootsies - if you actually want to get electrical energy back then again you only get 50% efficiency on that conversion so overall you are now down to 25 % round trip efficiency. Batteries are 75%+
agreed on the safety as H2 is gas and explosive. Cost and efficiency benefit? Are you aware of any comparative data to qualify your conclusion here Ophidian? I'd like to see it as I'm sure other potential investors would be if it is available.
So other BB members are aware, I'm not a deramper/troll I do hope that my long holding rises in value and that BMN reaches for the stars as I keep hearing from you all. I would thank you all for not jumping to premature conclusions and bullying new investors into BMN
Thanks Knuttie for your unhelpful comment and your offensive language. So you are aware I've recently invested a significant amount of my 2019/20 ISA allowance in BMN to go for a long holding as I'm a big advocate of renewable power and storage. I see a lot of positives with BMN, my question is merely to understand the merits of H2 vs V that is all as I'm ignorant on this matter. I'm sure VRFB batteries do indeed have positive aspects that isn't available with H2, just would like to hear what they are.
Have a look at this presentation and in particular at page 12. I am not as familiar with all of this as a few well known posters on here, but I think this may help you sharesaplenty
