Stay strong pdub. And, if it helps you, please keep posting. I always enjoy your posts. And thanks for reminding us to have a little perspective in life.
Pdub, my sincere best wishes for your health. I can't begin to imagine the internal anguish you are going through currently, or how you are coping with it. Please be close to your loved ones, talk openly to them, set your house in order. Make peace with your lot in life, and be ready for the next chapter.
Hopefully, a nice bounce of 8.7p today, this has been a major support for a while now. I think many people will be waiting on the sidelines to see what happens.
Goodnight Pdub and thank you for your positivity and insightfulness at what must be a difficult and trying time for you. As my grandfather would say, don't let the b*****ds grind you down!!
OO
PDub, I wish you all the best, honestly. As you might understand, my view on Bushveld is independen from your, my, or anyone's state of health. What is deemed optimism by one, is deemed realism by someone else. Bushveld's future will play out one way or the other. Neither my or your optimism nor pessimism will change that future in any way. Good luck and good night.
Well done Pdub, appreciate all your work. Sorry to hear your news. Alfredh is beyond help, he definitely has some sort of a problem, whether he's shorting, wanting dirt cheap shares or working for whoever, he still appears to have some issues.
Goodnight.
Oh dear. I think you have another bone between your teeth and further discussion is rather pointless.
Just for your benefit Alfred, and anyone else interested, and perhaps to give some perspective to all these so called issues you keep raising think on this.
This afternoon I was informed that my chemotherapy has not worked and is being withdrawn. My cancer is progressing and at present no further treatment is planned. I don’t particularly wish to spell out what that means for me. Maybe you can work it out.
Perhaps you can understand why I have no time for pessimism. In life when you are really tested, and I think I can claim to be in that position, you have to be positive or you have nothing. Some on this bb need to learn that lesson.
Good night.
"Alfred there are things that you could criticise about BMN but production is absolutely NOT one of them. "
How can you seriously start your message with a statement as ridiculous as this one!? Less than a year ago the company had to cut back on its annual production guidance. During the most recent quarter, Vametco output cam it 25% short of stated capacity. How on earth is output NOT amongh the things one can criticize? It is right at the heart and center of it!
Dub, how can't you see <3000mtV is way less than 3750mtV, even in your roll as a ramper? The shortfall has been officially announced, is well known and in the public domain! Would you mind stopping rubbish like that, it's a bit embarassing IMO.
LB21, do you imply Bushveld's quarterly results had nothing to do with its shares underperforming? Certainly a large active seller does depress the share price but good news can stimulate buyers and counter the selling to some extent. That did not happen and I can very well understand why not. You just can't maintain production capacity at Vametco was 3750mtV, then come up with less than 3000mtV and expect your shares to do well, can you?
Alfred the SP has moved down this week ONLY because there is one seller offloading shares, whether that is Duferco or someone else with a large holding I don't know.
Upgrade to L2 and you will see.
Current production/ output is flying, Kiln 3 is reportedly currently running well over 2,200 mtv at Vanchem.
How many companies do you know that can afford to expand production whilst at the same time covering not only their interest costs but also their principal debt?
Alfred there are things that you could criticise about BMN but production is absolutely NOT one of them. The company have focussed on stabilising production at Vametco (see Q1 2021) and have successfully achieved consistent numbers. How on earth do you not understand that, even in your roll as a deramper. This is factual into in the public domain!!!!
The news at Vanchem is even better. Since taking the plant over production per quarter has been very consistent. At the same time investment has gone into refurbishing Kiln 3 which they are currently commissioning and that will more than double Vanchem production and reduce costs. This again is factual information in the public domain. What is not to celebrate about that?
And both these plants were acquired at cheap prices and got BMN into production years ahead of building green field sites. Factual information in the public domain. What don’t you like about that?
I have never said I am happy with the current share price. Other than shorters (please tell me you are not playing that game)) no one should be happy with the share price. However the business is developing in exactly the directions that I want at Vanchem and Vametco. That is why I am positive. They are building a solid platform for the future. Whether I will be alive to benefit I have no idea but the BoD are doing a good job in that respect.
Excellent! So why oh why is the share price at 9p then? My point is the CRUCIAL criterion is output which is the foundation for revenues and profits and this is what decides the share price. Unfortunately Bushveld continues to disappoint at this crucial point hence the dismal share price performance.
You can list their smaller achievement all day long. Can't you see it doesn't help? Quite obviously your list of nice little thingies is irrelevant for the share price, it won't help one iota. You can continue to pretend production was fine and everything was going to plan. Everybody can see: It does not!
The only thing that WILL help is proper execution. And that starts with proper production/output.
Alfredh haha now you are trying to make a case for missed targets.
Yes the electrolyte plant has been delayed. I think there are many reasons for that, including a slower than expected take off of the VRFB market and also delays from SA Government which created an environment where priorities changed, eg Vanchem acquisition.
I am not sure what difference SA listing would make and certainly delayed but so what.
On the other hand:
Acquire Vanchem…. Delivered.
Increase % of Vametco … delivered.
Acquire Vanchem … delivered.
Engage partners in VRFB industry … Delivered.
Develop rental contracts with partner… Delivered.
Fix production issues at Vametco and achieve consistent output … Delivered
Refurb and commission. Kiln 3 at Vametco …. Delivered.
Reduce production costs since Vametco refurb…. Delivered.
Build electrolyte plant… Being delivered.
Build mini grid … Being delivered.
Help set up Invinity … Delivered
Sell some Invinity shares at profit for investment elsewhere … Delivered.
Etc etc.
I eagerly await the result if your next attempt to deramp BMN. My positivity torpedoes are armed and ready.
Just my opinion.
Bluesy if you are indeed a genuine investor in BMN and are currently underwater you have my sympathy. It is not great when you get your timing of entry wrong.
Having said that it does not excuse some of the misleading comments in your 19.20 post.
“Some who still claim we are a startup company … “ Who claims that? I think you may be mistaking that for “… growth company …” which is often referred to here and BMN most certainly is.
“There is no hope for this massively diluted and sadly once cutting edge SA miner…” Really? Dilution since Jan 2019 (almost 3 1/2 years ago) amounts to just 13% or about 146 million shares. On AIM for a growth company that is nothing. In fact AIM was established to make it easier for companies to raise money on the market. If you don’t understand that perhaps you shouldn’t be investing here.
Of those shares about 138 million shares went towards the purchase of Vametco and Vanchem. ie investing in production plant to generate revenue.
“This is a company devoid of vision or growth…” Absolutely not true. BMN for years now have been working towards their stated vision of building a large low cost vertically integrated vanadium platform, and they have been delivering. They already mine the ore and process it into a number of vanadium products … the essential first stage of their vision. And they did it by acquisition … a big short cut saving both money and time building green field plant. And growth? How about commissioning Kiln 3!
Soon we will be producing electrolyte for VRFB industry. Partnerships already entered into with VRFB producers. Rental contracts agreed with partners. So now working towards completion of the vertically integrated vanadium platform.
Not only that but long before others thought if it. Only now is Largo following suit.
“China dwarfs our output and does not need us.” And yet BMN exports to China! But remember their are other important vanadium markets and our biggest one is the US where prices are higher.
Bluesy I understand anger and frustration. There are criticisms that can be made towards BMN. PR is certainly an area that I am certainly not happy with. However some of those you listed simply aren’t factually true.
I hope that one day you will get a good return here and I understand your impatience but please keep the criticisms real.
Just my opinion.
BMN statement 2018-07-11: "The project remains on track to produce electrolyte in 2019 for South African and international markets." That was well before Covid and didn't materialize. Over-primised, under-delivered.
Q3 2019: "The application for the listing of the Company's shares on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange ("JSE") will now occur in calendar year 2020." Over-promised, under-delivered.
Most of the time the intention is good but xecution is awful. The company has to up its game massively in order to make shareholders prosper.
Yes you did but it needed to be put into context - so forgive me. Those talking about millions of shares being bought have little concept of how this fickle market even quantifies what constitiutes a buy or sale ! It's a tombola style scenaria based on a vague sell/buy average and so should be treated with the contempt it deserves.
What you are describing is a problem with delivery which I already agreed was pretty poor.
Having vision is one thing but lacking the ability and lack of resourcing to carry that vision through is another. And a wasteful dream bought at the expence of PI's is frankly a disgrace. A Schoolboy mentality at it's worst !! Next defender ....
The company can be accused of many things, and I agree that delivery has been pretty poor, but being devoid of vision is not one of them. If anything they could be accused of having too grand a vision. Nevertheless, it is a vision that has been adopted by the likes of Largo which is some kind of affirmation.
Coffee cups, unfortunately it’s a BIG IF.
You have got to love the eternal optomists here. Some who still claim we are a startup company despite being around for over a decade. There is no hope for this massively diluted and sadly once cutting edge SA miner. The only wiiners are their BOD who have bled this company dry - Sound familiar. It should do - Any investor who has invested in companies with so called ' POTENTIAL ' will know what I'm saying. Those who dream and have invested their family fortunes I really feel for you. This is a company devoid of vision or growth. Yes we have vanadium but China dwarfs our output and does not need us. How I rue investing money into this negatively progressive, fake news. company. However - I applaud the BOD who have a achieved a very luxurious lifestyle at the expence of PI's Well done you !! PDUB - I respect your knowledge of this companu and I never professsed to being a clever **** but this time you are wrong. This is anothe boil over and we all lose. &%% down in over 3 years. The worst investment I ever made and that's saying something - I evenmanaged to make a 1.5 k profit in MCLS 2 years ago. What do I know !!
The pivotal thing is this: Neither Vametco nor Vanchem did produce close to what they are supposed to produce. Vametco fell short 25% and Vanchem came in 31% short of stated capacity. That's a lot of V not produced, hence a lot of money lost, particularly in a high price environment. It is comical to see how some explain to me why a plant running well short of capacity was a good thing. It is not. It's money left on the table, it's a profit not made. And as long as it remains the case the share price won't appreciate. As simple as that.
And your point is? The connection to Vametco production is what exaclty?
yes alfred.. deliberately as we get 100% of Vanchem revenue but only 74% of Vametco... so the capacity upgrade investment went where ?
Enough said !
