New here on this board today and making good use of extra home time! Unfortunately like many here, I'm also suffering a double whammy with BARC, not only significantly down on the SP which I gracefully accept as the price for taking any risk on the markets but what I still find very difficult to digest is the loss of my BARC dividends post the ex-div date, as a long suffering Barc shareholder this was very hard for me to digest. Anyway, trying to move on and like others I see here and just to add, now I particularly fancy SBRY SP which to me currently looks dead cheap based on fundamentals and today's market conditions/environment looks like a bargain IMOO. Good Luck Everyone.
Whiteghost. I would agree. I bough Tesco yesterday, only £40k though. They have made me £2k so far in a day. As I bought them yesterday at 213p, now 227p, with Div Reinvestment coming. I will look at Barclays again next week, as I think they will reduce again early part of next week. So far I have been lucky, been back in the game 2 weeks now and £9.5k up. I think it is definitely a buyers market, and I would agree with you invest now and 2021, will be a boom year.
After selling yesterday, I got back in today with 25% of my Barclays trading capital at 91. See what happens over the next few days and Monday for the remaining capital to be put in when i think the time is right. Again for short term gains, won't be in it for the long term just yet.
Amazing dpecacf71 your first post just to tell us that. Any other words of wisdom to offer?
I bought shares on Monday morning and sold yesterday lunchtime for a 20p per share profit. I think I will buy back in next week. I think they will fall again tomorrow. I remember when Barclays crashed to 49p. Then shot back up. I know this is a different thing now. I am looking at a Tesco bounce back now too.
There’s were my sentiments exactly toward the weekend, I was looking to buy back in tomorrow. Saying that, the opposite seems to happen to everything I have done so far!
Good luck all, I am only playing with small chips but enjoying the ride!
Agreed, also i dont think next week the goverment is going to remove the lockdown, probaly 3 more weeks. Im working early today, Normaly im lates so get to watch all day. Good luck whatever you do. Will see what happened when i finish tonight.
You can,t rule out gut feeling, half of it is numbers and half of it is understanding how you thinking what everyone else is going to do.
I am tempted 50/50 at the moment to go back in, but I am all so thinking about the USA weekly job figures tomorrow I think I need to check dates, and even tho the last 2 weeks the USA markets went up after the job reports.
I have got the feeling it will not happen this time.
Plus you have easter holiday good Friday 3-4 days of bad news. unless the death rates go down but I think in the USA things are going to get worst tho the EU might get better.
could go either way but I think the USA news will have more impact than the better news from the EU.
So I'm guessing Thursday could be bad.
Unless the EU pulls out a new bailout plan or trump does something new.
My gut says to wait but my trigger finger has the buy button ready on the screen.
A Camel, im still a Gutter Rat. :) But happy.
And Jesus said "Take not your example from rich men for it is harder for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven than it is for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle" Envy and jealousy are in the 7 deadly sins list !
Regards all - SP should soon rise again - "Long way to go !"
I dont think this is anything to do with results, its just a crazy time, lots of people who have never traded are looking and thinking easy money. Alas thats not really what happens, for ever winner there has to be lossers. i dont trade with fundimentals, Im probaly the worst type of trader, im playing by gut and whats going on in the real world.
I see the last 2 day rise due to new ISA and the WoW factor. Im hoping back to 80p we go, with a possible 78p. i will be buying back in again, as we all know it will go back into the 90+ range. Im time £1.20 will come, but i dont see it going much higher for a while.
Please note these are my feelings, as a new none skilled trader, that does it to help make a deposit to buy a small home for myself. I work fulltime. (Key worker). Admins can see my portfolio. Watch this space.
8500 Share up so far. Target 40000 for deposit.
Barclays falling again as to be expected.
Am I correct in hearing that senior execs have forfeited some of their salary but what about the government directive regarding bonuses to all senior execs and risk takers ie investment bankers. I do hope they comply and dont do what they always do, which is whatever they please. Barclays almost needs someone from the FCA and serious crimes office based in their head office just waiting for them to slip up, yet again.. they just never learn to and it's hard to understand why they simply dont do what they are told by regulators and not their own agenda. After all they were quick to cancel dividends so what about bonuses.
