Think the Government have an evolving covid strategy and will continue to claim it is driven by the best scientific advice!!!
Unkindly, it can be referred to as making it up as you go along; pragmatic government!
Good job Avacta products have a very firm scientific base!
Scaran, was from John Bercow facebook page I think, it was sent to me by someone when we had discussed the untendered contracts being awarded. The ones I mentioned are only tip of iceberg. I think there is a QC who has indicated he will take Goves department to court over some of it
B311APAD
Hi where did you get the initial data, I would like to have a look, it does seem appalling and defo should be an enquiry into loss of public money.
Corruption at the highest level. How worse are we than other "Third world countries"
I actually meant "I bet they won't make the news, though."
Ooops.
This post suggests that the government have a plan - surely not!
I wonder how much of the money we'll get back, how many people go to jail and how many will lose their jobs.
I bet they make the news, though.
Colette12, I think it may have been a civil service glitch when the imperative was to increase availability of PPE. Some miscreants (to put it mildly), took advantage is my guess.
I'm not sure anyone has been hurling abuse, merely pointing out that the best way to get a Government contract would appear to be having a major Tory party investor on board. Or possibly just someone connected with Tory party being hired as an advisor - that seems to work as well.
Omg !! I’m shocked by this ... what an abhorrent abuse of power :(
They are also your elected representative and hurling abuse does nothing for your future.
Also, they're not pragmatic, they're like headless chickens
Also, they're not pragmatic, they're like headless chickens
Doze, they're only looking to cut the Civil Service. This country has always relied on th Civil service to keep us on an even keel and protect us from politicians and their advisors
those numbers are shocking, how the f do they get away with it and then somebody suggested we should provide the test strips at cost price, F off!!!
Freeman because of freedom mortgagefreeman-that is the gist of it not petty argument against humans doing their best endeavour. You have you vote to change but pro tem The government are not jeopardising AVCT's stab at success because they are pragmatic over covid.
Someone needs a "doze" of reality!
B311apad, Boris is incensed at public waste and has an overhaul of the civil service in hand. Public waste at government level has been a perennial problem but generally politicians have not been corrupted in this country and work for the public good. Democracy does work at our elections, we are not Russia and no need to be on the case as you can vote soon and voice your opinion without censure or being locked up or bumped off.
And they want to screw the over 75’s for £78m for licenses ...sorry off topic. Thats why I try not to pay tax....they waste it!
Irony, Fey.
Just a few of the examples of corruption or ineptitude, started from number 32 as these were more relevant to this page
From John Bercow’s page;
-------------------
32. And now PPE contracts, so prepare to begin eternal screaming:
33. £252m to Ayanda Capital, registered in Mauritius for tax purposes. PPE not delivered
34. £186m to Uniserve. PPE not delivered
35. £116m to P14 Medical Supplies, with assets of just £145. PPE not delivered
36. £108m to PestFix, with just 16 employees. PPE not delivered
37. £107m to Clandeboye Agencies, a sweet wholesaler. Yes, a sweet wholesaler. PPE not delivered.
38. £40m to Medicine Box Ltd, with assets of just £6000. PPE not delivered.
39. £48m to Initia Ventures Ltd, which registered itself as “dormant” in March. PPE not delivered.
40. £28m to Monarch Acoustics, which makes shop furniture. PPE not delivered
41. £25m to Luxe Lifestyle, which has no employees, no assets, and no turnover. PPE not delivered
42. £18m to Aventis Solutions, which has total assets of £332. Not a typo, £332. PPE not delivered
£10m to Medco Solutions, incorporated just 3 days after lockdown, with share capital of (not a typo) £2. PPE not delivered
44. In all, approx £1bn to inexplicable suppliers for PPE that hasn’t been delivered
45. The gov still polls well for economic competence. Go figure
46. Meanwhile a Nuffield Health study found after 10 years of "chronic underinvestment", UK is at the bottom of the league table for health resources; and diagnostics and surgery by the NHS will take 4 years to return to pre-Covid levels. But £1bn for non-existent PPE
47. The gov’s “world beating” test-and-trace programme was described as “scandalous” by the British Medical Journal, and found to miss its 80% target in every Covid hotspot announced this week
48. And finally, Boris Johnson refused a public enquiry into gov handling of Covid 19
Boris always gives credit to the British people and probably loathes politicians as a libertarian himself. His agendas are derived from best advice available and within his general direction of travel. I would hate to be ruled by an idealist with systems crashing around me as now.
Don't think that he was a journalist. Sacked by the Times for lying and wrote essays for the Telegraph.
