The Thai lockdown is now being relaxed and the economy is st to surge.
Time to exit from this stock.
Coronavirus will seriously impact the Thai economy as it is certain to erupt here rapidly Respiratory infections are always rampant in Thailand in my experience as an expat living there a while ago.
This is due to crowded living conditions for many'crowded public transport and most importantly a hot and humid climate all year round
It's only a matter of time before there is a serious crisis which will lay waste to Tourism agriculture and manufacturing.
Time to sell now before it's too late.
In my opinion it's not worth the risk of hanging on.
LOOKS TIME TO GET IN TO AGAIN AT THIS PRICE
up 20% since the pound fell thank goodness I was still holding :-)
Not till 2017, i dont see this one taking off until at least that date. Although im still in profit for here is hoping
Looks like we are moving again, good stuff. BANGKOK (BLOOMBERG) - Thailand's economy grew more than analysts estimated in the fourth quarter as the military government's series of stimulus measures started to bear fruit. Gross domestic product expanded 2.8 per cent in the three months through December from a year earlier, the National Economic and Social Development Board said on Monday (Feb 15). That compares with the 2.6 per cent median estimate in a Bloomberg News survey of 22 analysts. GDP climbed 2.8 per cent in 2015, more than the median forecast of 2.7 per cent in a separate survey. http://www.straitstimes.com/business/economy/thai-economy-expands-more-than-forecast-in-q4-on-government-stimulus
I hope we don't become another Ukraine. Thailand really needs a stable government, and a few smoothe transitions between parties. Lets hope they can sail a safe passage. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2016/02/11/thai-deputy-pm-sets-july-31-vote-on-charter-2017-election.html
I am now back in the black and ahead if you inlcude dividends. Lets hope news of the economy picking up support this one http://www.thanhniennews.com/world/thai-economy-expands-more-than-forecast-on-government-stimulus-59254.html
Fair play, I am stil in. Although its going to be a long play
Guys, I'm out at this point. I have broken even after dividends. I am afraid of vacuum cleaners. Putting the money into BRCI and BRFI and looking for oil to rise, and mining to come back long term. GLA
The Police and Army jostling for position for when the unspeakable happens. Long live HRH
Nope.
Up wards and onwards this time? Inshallah...
Story of my life .....
Great timing runner ....
At 500p I'll be taking 50% out. Balance in for 550p. Long live the King.
This could be a good addition to the SET allowing ANW to potentially invest in Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. (Reuters) - Thailand's securities regulator said on Thursday it will allow foreign firms to launch initial public offerings (IPO) in the country and list on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, effective immediately. The change is part of a plan to promote Thailand as a centre of fundraising for companies in neighbouring countries such as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam as well as in the Chinese southwestern province of Yunnan. The IPOs of foreign firms, as well as the local holding companies of foreign firms, will be subject to additional requirements such as a regulation involving investor protection, the Securities and Exchange Commission said in a statement. still operating a health discount, and slight increase in the NAV
Looks like the share buyback will reduce the discount on the share price and looks to be pushing us up towards ew highs, good stuff.
Good news all round, and hopefully it will stimulate the economy.... fingers and toes crossed. http://www.voanews.com/content/thailand-interest-rate-cut-economy/2678741.html
The posssibility of terrorist attacks highlights the need to find a lasting political settlement. http://thediplomat.com/2015/03/100-more-bomb-attacks-planned-in-thailand-police-told/ I would hate to see Thailand descent into internal troubles.... plus my sharholding would take a battering :-)
Looks like the economy is not picking up as expected. Which is disappointing. I would have hoped that the economy would biounce somewhat more quickly. As mcuch as I am sitting on 20% profit. I thought we would have been seeing more by now. http://www.wsj.com/articles/yinglucks-troubles-could-be-overshadowed-by-thailand-economy-1421982510 Look like I will reserve a decision until post summer. Let’s hope now the rice subsidy scheme is over, we can see some form of recovery. Elections still look like a problem. Personally I think Thailand has hit that cross point where the Urban rich and rural poor and very different lives and perspectives, we seen similar in Ukraine before the Russian rebellion/invasion of Donbass region. I hope Thailand can steer a smooth path past through the problems. Although this will need a political settlement. Military intervention quite simply will not suffice.
Thailand is a kind of soft unspoken colony of China isn't it? Of course Thailand will not re-pay China, Thailand will owe China .. the hole gets deeper. "Some of the money for the project will come from China. China, Japan and South Korea have all said they want to work on the rail development program. But it was China that finally signed an agreement of understanding with Thailand, and will finance the new tracks. Thailand will operate the network and then will repay China."
http://www.agprofessional.com/news/thailands-economic-growth-picking-government-spending Not sure how accurate this is, or whether its just Junta spin.
http://learningenglish.voanews.com/content/thailand-to-launch-major-public-works-program/2629710.html this looks like a decent policy, replacement for the failed rice subsidy scheme?
