But long term the lower avg might counter the 3p loss
C26 yes! I have had another look at it of course I had to be better off. So originally bought at 52 then sold at 49 and bought back at 47 (roughly) overall I’m still worse off because I lost 3p selling and gained 2p buying BUT I lowered my average price. Funny thing is I would NEVER have sold them if I had realised beforehand that I had bought them for a higher price ha ha it’s a blo*dy minefield.
Hi people. I am also pretty new to this game and have only recently invested in AML. These threads have been great for info and thanks for all the insight so keep up the good posts guys, it definitely helps :-)
Rox, it doesn't actually matter what you bought them for, you are still 700 quid better off.
Think about it, if you had not sold some at 49p, you would be on a bigger loss from 52p down to 47p!
Yes but the idea is to lock in proffit for free day you hold 47 you sell 50 then buy back at 47 therefore long term you have the same benifit but the extra bit that you have cashed in for free

I wish I had the balls to sell on the rises and buy the dips! I had a perfect opportunity at 80 To sell my 47avg and I was thinking to lower my hold but was blinded by 120 ended up selling in 60s now have majority held at I think 51 because I got scared Rushed and brought in the mid 50s and avg down Later managed and some more recently managed to get some back at 47. I commend your balls rox I wish I had them which every way you ended up even a little red you will be rewarded in the long run! :D
Yup! What I have done recently too when it’s a surprise drop, buy low, then sell again when it’s recovered, as AML tends to fast. If you don’t want more funds tied up in the same share at least, like just topping up gives. There’s a much smaller benefit because you don’t save losses on the way down, but still gain on the way up.
Is it not safer to just buy more at a lower price to bring your avergae down? I suppose that depends on how many funds you actaully have available to do that I suppose.
I’ve done similar too Rox ... still learning. We’ll get there
Can't win them all Rox - you just gotta win more often than you lose!
Since this morning I'm £180 up on BP. £2.5k down on CINE lol. It'll come back.
Guys you have got to have a laugh at my expense at what I did today. I mentioned earlier that I have been having a go at selling some of my AML shares and then buying them back a couple of pence cheaper. Well today I did just that and sold at I think 49p ish and bought back at 47.9p so “made” £700! So chuffed until I realised I had paid 52p for those shares last week! Ha ha HOPELESS I still can’t work out if I’m better or worse off! Lol couldn’t make it up. I think I will just leave it to the experts.
I don't think they're shorters either.... you need experience, intelligence and sound financial backing to be able to short. Does this describe that usual bottom feeders that pop up on here?
These shorters that keep spamming this discussion board are infuriating and some are muppets. Looks like they won't be doing so hot soon. Tobias officially starts in August, just as the DBX is released as well as their new plans. This is entry time lads, buy red sell green.
There are no bots on this forum. There are no paid de-rampers on this forum.
There are investors - some with experience and others who are too excitable. And there are d1ckheads just looking to wind other up. That is it. No conspiracy. No manipulation. But if you read as much as possible, try and understand the logic and ignore the idiots - the answer will be there somewhere in the middle.
With 45 minutes to trade - we now need to make another 13,3% on top of the 3.14% - to reach your ptediction.
Sorry - it was utter nonsense when posted this morning.
Just a tadge worse given 45 minutes left.
Unless somthing atomic that only you know....................
Cheers
JT
Came on here fairly recently, to enjoy good comment and the 'excitement' (usually nervous variety) of the ride with this share.
Am into AML to an extent, less than many, more than others.
I think, fundamentally, the more interesting and valid comments, come from those invested, and we are all of a broadly similar view.
I like the different shades of view, since it assists with my education.
I'm happy with comments from 007, and even Mr Nation, even though i feel they are mis-placed.
55p will come, be patient 007.
I know what you mean about keeping it real !!! When I started on this BB I was very positive and came out with silly comments ( still do some say :) ) and I got filtered by a few people who I now value their comments and views and knowledge so just wish they would review the blocked people as we all had to start somewhere and have now learnt
Rox
I am sorry you feel that way and perhaps da is your friend. If you look at his comments, he was very rude to me. He is the one you should be questioning and not me! If you know what I mean. :-(
Bond please don’t spoil the board. There are some really switched on people here and if you are invested then you will learn a lot from them. Making statements like you have is not clever it really isn’t. This is not a debate and whatever you say next (hopefully take my advice and say nothing) I will not be giving you any more “oxygen”. I really don’t want to filter you because I think everyone has something to offer. Thank you.
da
Nice volume of buys, no nonsense here, 55p coming....
You will owe me 10,000 shares ;-)
da
Watch this space.....otherwise why are you here and commenting. Something must be interesting you here....otherwise leave and move on...
Early increase today I would say was due to a rocket start for the FTSE, it's now tracking back gradually, expect SP to track with it.
This doesn't agree with ""Going up"" ???
I am down for cataract surgery on the 17th - all the same - I see the graph................
https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/aml?countrycode=uk
Er - going down - yes.
JT
the reverse very clearly can happen and has happened, SP was artificially inflated up to 80+ for no reason and how the chickens have come home to roost
