Ah, thanks for the info Darren.
So it seems pro accounts can short AML, but retail investor's can't.
Makes sense now, and hopefully that provides some assurances that I aint shorting AML ;)
I would if I could do, when all those new shares hitting the market tomorrow, the funds have all made their 10% in a day.
Seems to me all the big boys new cash call was coming and shorted it, no borrowable stock left for retail investors.
Forward sell it last week, close at 50p, then sell them for 55p today.
Easy money.
ha! I don't have 500k with IG unfortunately but I do have a pro account. £500k is a lot to SB with.
I've had one since the limit was lower (£250k I think) and they've just honored it for a few years since.
Wow. He always struck me as a big player @ContrarianKicks.....
Paul, if Darren is using a pro account, then he is correct.
That also means he has >£500k in the markets.
Looks like the wheels are coming off.................
@Darrem, normal account, what are you on?
contrarian - SB. I'm surprised they told you that - do you have a professional account? Or just normy?
And their you are - shorts closing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bought a minimal 2000 shares on 212 this morning that was all I could get.
@ContrarianKicks his 'my first trade' demo account probably....
Darren, that's impossible. I have tried on IG and emailed them about this and been categorically told there is no shorting of AML as there is no stock to borrow.
Spreadbet or CFDs.
Which did you use?
opened it up with IG exactly as I have done in the past.
just go on your IG account and try it....
We will see the Shorts position at 1530 - no guess work from the FCA - eh.
JT
Don't believe anything on here.
Can Stroll turn it around?
New car... hit or miss.
That's it
Oh right.... apart from our friend Buff here who reckons he opened one this morning? hmmnnnn
Paul,
I have said many times on here, it's impossible to short AML right now.
Hence why I ask everyone who claims to be short, how they actually did it.
It's usually smaller companies who cannot be shorted as no stock can be lent out.
I emailed IG over the weekend about this, and they confirmed there is NO BORROWABLE stock.
So attacking anyone other than hedge funds for shorting is misplaced imho.
also - think vod is about to break out
Paul I'm expecting it to drop from 54.8 to 50ish which would make me nice profit. don't know if it'll go though the 50 support.
I would expect anyone with a logical brain on shorting AML would have opened it as soon as the RNS came out on Friday.... and closed this morning as soon as it was clear SP wasn't going to drop again. Any short expecting it to drop through the new 50p support level, is gambling massively. IMO.
How are you shorting it Darren? With whom?
cannot understand y anyone's buying here so I go short.
s&p breaks 3000 today
