Anyway Amgo are kindly compensating a huge number of current and ex customers. Not all bad
Steve, will you be giving your profits away to charities that help families affected by Covid or any low paid families(which I am)??
Don't play holier than thou. You invest in stocks and shares and similarly to life there are winners and losers. If you choose the wrong shares and go bust, who's fault would it be? Maybe Amgo could help you out of a hole.
Steve please dont be so rude.
For someone with such high moral standards it is interesting that you have shares in boohoo.
Frankly I am amazed you bought in here before you even knew what amgo did.
Now play nice.
Tory that's shouldn't be allowed shares? Sounds like you're the elitist. Also a bit hypocritical as investigating in shares is part of the capitalism machine. A true Liberal wouldn't invest in a business. If you feel so badly about the business model then you should have done your homework prior to investing. No hope with some people.
I agree with mark and the other comments a steady rise would be preferable. IMO sharp upticks will inevitably see sharp falls from profit taking whereas a steady rise builds confidence and may encourage longer term holding which will breach sp ceilings with more ease and frequency.
From my point of view this is a gamble stock however at this price it places Amigo on the side of being the house in a casino situ, thus worth a decent stake.
I think a broad statement of intent from the returning lead which adds a statement of intent to work with regulators “as the market leader” to introduce a new framework to provide safe and sustainable lending to its customers would be ideal.
GL everyone
First post I read first filter.
Sell now and **** off.
I'm half hoping amgo folds so you lose now.
Noone here needs or wants your negative attitude.
So **** off
You disagree that the poorest in society should have access to credit?
I agree a steady rise as more and more news comes out is preferable to short unsustainable spikes along the way. The new CEO buying more shares has to be seen as a sign of confidence on his part that he knows he can get the job done! So much news in the pipeline and as we’ve already said all the foreseen bad stuff is long since in the open now and apart from the drag on the sp that JBs daily sale is causing I think everything else that’s happening will drive this forward.
By the way guys/gals. Sorry if it seemed I took over the board with that spat last night. I will endeavour to ignore the usual idiots from now and bite my tongue.
I am almost glad the sp didn't skyrocket today. The price WILL RISE, however our expectation must be tempered and realistic so we don't ride an emotional roller coaster every day. Hang in there fatbloke this is a very good investment; the bloke's only been in work a day :-D.
Mark hope you're well mate? I can tell how much this means to you; it's more than just money it's our future on the line here. Your posts (present and historic) make it crystal that you know what you're talking about; as for Dope, well the name says it all. I'm with GCN and Shezer on this. I feel shattered catching up with mess the little terrorist has made and he clearly get's off on winding people up and creating worry. This is not a case of Confirmation Bias, investment decisions have been made on the basis of the known facts. It is highly unlikely the FOS will force closure of a profitable (balance sheet provision aside) and more importantly, tax generating business amidst a deepening recession and sadly increasing unemployment. Dope's sole argument does not account for this assuming the FOS' independence means are not subject to any political influence and operate in a bubble detached from the economy.
I'm quite literally loosing sleep over this and i'm sure the baby will wake me up in a few hours just for the fun of it. Catch you all on the other side.
It’s not an old news, in listed companies all appointments or termination of employments of executives and members of board must meet certain rules and obligations under the UK Corporate Governance Code. So submitting a resignation letter doesn’t come with an immediate effect unless the company has already hired someone else to replace that person to maintain a balance of directors to serve on the Board and its Committees.
The company terminated Wilcke’s contract last week after hiring a new chairman and we just found about the termination from Companies House so I am expecting RNS this week to confirm the departure of Wilcke and Hamish.
[Amigo said outgoing Chief Executive Hamish Paton will step down on 31st of July]
And here goes another wave of hype with people getting excited for a second time on something previously known..
All of this is old news, also check filling and appointment dates - all is coming from a "while ago" past

Now Glen is back in the helm, August will be the month to see Amigo back on track & heading in the right direction, supported by the majority of shareholders!
"@JamesBenamor - Jul 31
Sorry, not much to say right now. Today is the last day of Hamish as CEO. It feels like a lot has changed in the last few weeks, but actually all the appointments and resignations don’t take effect until Monday."
Monday is the start of a new chapter for Amigo though."
I know shezer, they are just infuriating though so I can see why people get into arguments with them as they will say literally anything to get a rise.
Cheers mark. Just checked myself and you are absolutely right. Its there in black and white on the c house website. Just roger and nayan to go and then its game on!
Excellent news. I guess this is the new chapter for Amgo touted by JB on the weekend.
And yes it is I checked companies house.
I won’t be anymore greatcrestednewt! That was the last hurrah!
Is it genuine?
I'm not interested in your opinion dope.
Why are you all wasting time with dopey?
We seem to be off the point.... if this TM01 is confirmed by RNS that is fantastic news. One step closer to JBs desired position.
Well spotted faze.
