More salespeople and more exposure at this prestigious exhibition will only be good for a leading fuel cell manufacturer in a fast growing market. That's the sort of gearing I like!
North sea already busy with Nel Doosan Ryse etc the offshore Dolphyn project. What are Nel using in salt water.
great hint, ItsallBull.
also that is very interesting: Pilot of First Hydrogen plantFirst offshore pilot plan Poseidon for green hydrogen

Or even the North Sea;-)
That was childish Cheekyboy. But you beat me to it!
Great loint about hydrogen generation from seawater for ships. They could almost be self sufficient if partnered with other green tech to power the electrolyser. To start with, this electrolyser/fuel cell system, much like that developed for Extreme E would be ideal for auxiliary power for ships replacing diesel. Exactlt the market AFC is looking for. There is not much more remote than the middle of the Atlantic or Pacific.
That was my first thought itsallbull.
I wonder what mr knicker will think of it :-)
Sorry, I know it's childish but couldn't help it.
meaningless post, dude. nevermind.
can AFC compete with such key players like:
ThyssenKrupp AG, Linde AG, Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., Siemens AG, ProtonOnsite, Teledyne Energy Systems Inc., AREVA H2Gen, Hydrogenics Corporation, Erre Due SpA, and Peak Scientific?

New Perspectives for Electrolysis – Offshore Hydrogen Production
Felix Knicker, Tractebel
That could be electolysing seawater for H2 production in boats? Possibly utilising Alkamem.
Bananaman, this is an extract from RNS 11/11/19.
With applications in Alkaline Water Electrolysis (to generate Hydrogen), electro-dialysis, salt-splitting and energy storage (including Redox Flow batteries), the anionic membrane is relevant across several high value industries, offering excellent value for money.
Market size for Nafion is edging on 1B$ per annum Bananaman
Bananaman, yes it is right.
Cheekyboy2. Is that right ? I wasn't aware of that.
Thank you. That is very interesting and opens a huge potential market for Alkaline electrolysers.
Nil poi n8.....best just trust afc:)
Let's not forget that one of the properties of Alkamem is to split salt water. That could be the big advantage in off shore hydrogen generation.

hope that helps
I like Bond's style. He has a tough job on his hands and is taking AFC through this difficult period from R&D to commercialisation.
This year may be written off for all businesses but it hasn't stopped companies like AFC getting closer to delivering commercial products.
I would love to know what is going on behind the scenes. I think we are in for a pleasant surprise. Clearly its not nothing !
The irony is that AFC have been focusing for many years on developing a much needed low cost and efficient fuel cell. It now appears that Alkamem could be transformational for hydrogen production and be the product that really takes off for AFC. That is assuming that they have been succesful in developing the manufacturing of the membrane in sizes for industrial application. If that is the case it would present a more efficient and lower cost option than Nafion, and AFC do not have to concern themselves with developing an electrolyser simply licencing or manufacturing and selling Alkamem to its customers.
Can anyone remember the market size for alkaline membranes annually ?
Great to be asked to present but excellent results to date is the key...for all the opportunites afc have if all goes well with alkamem then it will surely be a company maker on its own....the holy grail like the man from rolls royce said i think.
I hope its bond that presents, i like his style and although others might disagree, i think that those who out pen to paper would be impressed by him.
Notice De-Nora are presenting at 1050, about 1 hour before AFC.
The bit that is important in order to progress ahead is, 'The presentation will provide an update on membrane performance, scale up, and use cases within the Alkaline Water Electrolyser industry.'
I hope they are referring to the AFC membrane, and not just membranes in general
Surely the update has to be good, otherwise, with everything else that does not make the mark, AFC would try as hard as possible, to let no news, or bad news, fade away, hoping we would not notice.
AFC Energy's AlkaMem® membrane is already being provided to several industrial and academic institutions in Europe under material supply agreements for trials within the field of Alkaline Water Electrolysis with excellent results obtained to date.
Excellent to be getting an update on Alkamem at last and at an that’s central to the industry. Great to see DeNora there as well.
I’ve not heard the name Sian Franklin before.
This is yet more real evidence that the company is making excellent progress, contrary to what the derampers and pondlife want us to believe.
The dots are starting to join up and remember that AlkaMem isn't even factored into either broker fair value for now of 32p and 68p!
