Thanks Tetrolite .....Just trying to establish if the Power Tower has a connection take off on both sides of the cabinet .....there are photos showing a left hand side connection and whether this may be a bespoke system ......as a right hand side connection appears to be the standard ......there is no 110 volt take off if you search the web site via Technical Products .
The right hand Power Tower at the AGM was labelled ABB…..just about legible above the power take off in the collection of LinkedIn photo’s in your post at 13.43. Specifically produced for ABB?
Thanks mucksy .....Maybe someone from the AGM visit or the Urban Airport visit may have noticed ....
Maybe the power tower has connections on both sides perhaps like 110 one side and 240 the other
That photo also shows someone using a drill and plugged in extension lead
Could alternatively be due to EV Charger config, as these will be supplied by ABB from existing production and it might have made more sense to install it on the other side?
If EE aren't expanding the use of the process with new apparently suitable products available one would have to wonder why not. They know it works.
Ah right, thanks!
Strange that they appear to have changed it around, as logically it should be no different from a stack and connections perspective.
Maybe it had to be swapped round due to the Methanol Reformer config, in that the manufacturer makes them one way round, so AFC had to then accommodate that by swapping the stacks to the other side?
The text printed on the units is not reversed though Haggis (as that had been my first thought also).
Is there any way to be 100% sure that left and right configs existed, or could it just be that the images were published as mirror images on some pages?
I see no point creating left and right configs, it achieves nothing, all it does is create way more complexity for manufacturing and further development such as adding the Methanol Reformer. Just because in the EU they drive on the other side of the road does not mean they need their entire World to be produced the opposite way to the UK, so my bet is that it's mirrored imaging.
Yeah I realised the lack of full controls after I posted. It does show though that a unit with the stacks positioned to the right hand side of the unit did exist 2 months ago.
The Power Tower EV charger was launched using this photo .....right handed controls ...... https://www.linkedin.com/company/afc-energy-plc The photo from April seems unfinished with just one knob.........Thanks for pointing that out tho.
The linkedin post to accompany the launch of the Power Tower EV back in April also featured a PT with this 'opposite handed' configuration Klunk.
The photo of the Power Tower with a container and fork truck is configured opposite handed ( left side controls )to all other images of the Power Tower .....could this unit be a besoke system for a customer ?.....why would the make opposite handed systems ? https://www.linkedin.com/company/afc-energy-plc
Ah....I now understand why it was a no show at Goodwood...........sorry, my mistake, didn't realise it had been shipped out.......
I'm wondering if the photo of the power tower near a blue container on end of forklift tractor was being loaded to be shipped to extreme e
Alt-muddle .....If the PR work from Extreme E is to be believed there should be ...what possible reason would they choose not to use a Power Tower or 4 ...... do you have an opinion ?
Using my own kind of logic ....i would have Extreme E down as first customer for the AFC Power Tower.....they are using HVO Gen Sets to power the paddock ...why would they not want to use the Power Tower that would further decrease their own emissions output ....which is a large part of their sales pitch.....and the St Helena is still at anchor off Calgliari .
