The current share price (51.76p) includes the dividend of 1.84p (3.55%) that will be stripped out on 11th April - SP could go higher ahead of this event. The anticipated future decline in interest rates and any action relating to the car leasing overcharging currently being investigated could adversely impact the share price during 2024 - DYOR.
This what has happened: The trend suggests selling, missing the dividends and re investing when the buyback program is complete. DYOR

The icon is a man shrugging his shoulders. I guess seany is suggesting he cannot access the article as the link takes you to a paywall.
Seany123 - what does that mean
"🤷🏻♂️"
You are aware (I suppose) the index referred too in the article includes LLOY, BARC and HSBC.

This must surely be a security concern, just bloody turn them back when they reach our half
The FT article says the two wine companies quoted are increasing their employees by +5% to +8%. That means Brexit is creating new jobs. That's great news.
'I know regret voting to eave'
What does that mean?
Nomlungu
If it were not for Brexit you and a couple of others on this board would have boring lives, for yours seems to revolve around Brexit. Scanning Media channels for any thing negatives to find, but ignoring the plus points or the state of the individual nations. I know regret voting to eave, the movement to the right as the media describes the political movement, or just common sense as I would call it, that I find ATTRACTIVE.
I could even vote to re-join if this keeps up, lest hope so.

''wonder when the market will start to address the valuation imbalance''
for as long as possible I hope, whilst shareholders continue to vote for share repurchase programmes.
Flec
no anger - just trying to put you straight - NO connection between
''''Buybacks will increase the price per share relative to what it would otherwise be."
and a re capitalisation of Rolls Royce creating Billions of more shares reducing the share price at the time.
LTI you should up your medication, you're getting angry about things you shouldn't get angry about.

It takes a teetotaller to come up with these perverse rules: "Britain’s Brexit wine duty regime is ‘unworkable’, industry warns"

Yes Skier - very disappointing - and goes to emphasize what a bargain the Lloy SP represents - wonder when the market will start to address the valuation imbalance

''Thanks for letting me know the March update is missing - seems the list is getting too long for the page''
ffs - why on earth do you need to show a monthly difference in shares in issue.
28th Feb 2018 72,086,432,586
28th Mar 2024 63,716,020,308
28th Feb 2018 and the end of April 2024 would suffice for next month, etc etc for those interested.
Flec
what is it you do not understand with -
''Buybacks will increase the price per share relative to what it would otherwise be."?
''I simply used RR as a good example to make my point''
NO - what point in relation to my above that YOU quoted.? absolutely NO POINT because there is NO Relationship. What the fk has a RR re capitalisation got to do with the benefit of buybacks. You are dragging yourself into a corner
So... the non-LLOY portfolio has outperformed the LLOY portfolio (excluding dividends) by 10-fold between 2016 and 2024...
* Non-LLOY = +79%
* LLOY = +8%
