Looks like lockdown impacted the contributors on this board or is that just a red herring
Are we still taking about fish?
absolutely dead in the water
Hate spiders lol
I wonder if 3card's doing Spider Crab Tagliatelle for lunch?
Sure your right...they'll be crying out for our sea food, but in the meantime a chain of sea food restaurants would be very nice, Spider crab tagliatelle...Cafe Rouge have gone so there's an opportunity. Smoked haddock chowder here tonight..frozen fish.
Shall I pour?
Agree entirely suzy. The EU owe us no favours so the UK fishing industry needs to reinvent itself. We are a nation brought up on cod and chips and Birds Eye. With government assistance and a big advertising campaign can we change the habit of a lifetime? Brexit is only an opportunity if we actually take the opportunity.
I think eventually the Italians will be crying out for the return of our scallops and mussels.
Imagine a line of top class seafood restaurants stretching all the way down the Devon and Cornwall coasts.
No you are right on time TSP
has the coffee morning started early?
And it costs too much.
Quite right Hasty, we've got to do our best with it and I'm sure we will. The Cornish fishing industry are renaming Megrim Sole and Spider Crabs to make them more tempting to the British market. 3Card...how much Megrim Sole and Spider Crabs can you eat? I like it but I don't like doing it...cos I've got a life.
"and who would that be?"
My lips are sealed Suzy, I'm saying no more.
I don't think we will, as regardless how anyone voted we have to make the best out of what we have in life and I believe the UK will, because we have to. I just hope for as few casualties as possible along the journey. The EU and Macron do have to watch out as their own biggest problem is themselves with there being many disaffected individuals and states feeling more and more neglected. Covid and climate change are exacerbating this and Rural Sweden is a classic example where a Stockholm centric political base is failing the regions, the climate, the industrial base and ultimately their people.
All good here budd. I would agree with you that time will tell but we may possibly disagree on the eventual outcome. EU however would do well not to pee off the uk too much.
Kisses to you braggy looks like I touched a nerve. I don't know what is more worrying that you know the circulation of the daily fail or your conflation of a comment to Suzy with supporting Macron and reading the guardian. Neither of which are true. We've left the EU and only time and hindsight will tell if it was wise or not.
No wonder there's wars.
I take it Hasty that you defend what's been going on across the water. Macron must love you.
Hasty. Yeah, odd though that its circulation is roughly 10 times that of the bible of left leaning, bleeding heart, liberalist academia, aka The Guardian.
Hasty...Lol.
Suzy - anyone who doesn't agree with Daily Mail politics or suffer from Xenophobia and has a modicum of intelligence and common sense.
Do you FarEnd...and who would that be?
Wonderful ! it seems like Suzy2 is finally seeing the light at last, there's been lots of incidents with that shower since 1939.
Good post 3card, all true of course, so good that it merited repeating. I know someone on this BB who would not agree though. :-)
Seriously though, a number of incidents recently will have made even the staunchest of remainers think twice.
The shutting off of all entry from the UK to France at the end of 2020, the disgraceful nitpicking bureaucratic treatment of hauliers and their loads despite UK applying a 6 month light touch, the changing of the rules on our shellfish, the British covid variant DISEASE (which probably came over from EU anyway), the shambles of their vaccine planning leading to totalitarian measures against AstraZeneca, the unilateral invoking of section 16 threatening the peace process and risking a NI hard border, the shocking treatment of Scottish and English shellfish exporters with a view to destroying our industry, lying about the efficacy of the AZ vaccine whilst threatening nonetheless to commandeer supplies (odd one that). And we are only one month in!
No wonder the Swedes are getting itchy feet.
