Tata Steel's Q2 & H1 FY'15 Key Production & Sales Figure

Jamshedpur, Oct 13, 2014: Tata Steel registered Hot Metal production of 2.58 million tonnes in Q2 (up by 5% y-o-y) and 5.11 million tonnes in H1 (up by 4% y-o-y). Crude steel production was 2.27 million tonnes in Q2 and 4.60 million tonnes in H1 (up by 2% y-o-y). Saleable Steel production increased by 0.3% y-o-y in Q2 (to 2.2 million tonnes) and by 3% y-o-y in H1 (to 4.46 million tons). Deliveries were 2.11 million tonnes in Q2 (up by 4% y-o-y) and 4.21 million tonnes in H1 (up by 4% y-o-y).

Major Highlights

· Pellet Plant has achieved best ever Q2 production of 1.40 million tonnes (Previous best 1.15 million tonnes in Q2 FY'14), and best ever H1 production of 2.81 million tonnes (Previous best 2.19 million tonnes in H1 FY'14).

· Merchant Mill achieved its best ever H1 production at 0.213 million tonnes (Previous best 0.199 million tonnes in H1 FY'14).

· New Bar Mill achieved its best ever Q2 production of 0.232 million tonnes (Previous best 0.225 million tonnes in Q2 FY'14), and best ever H1 production at 0.459 million tonnes (Previous best 0.447 million tonnes in H1 FY'14).

· CRM Saleable is best ever H1 at 0.918 million tonnes (Prev. best 0.844 million tonnes in H1 FY'14).

· Best-ever H1 Automotive sales of 0.67 million tonnes (Previous best 0.55 million tonnes in H1 FY'14).

Other Highlights

· Tata Steel has become the first steel company in India to receive accreditation from Indian Road Congress (IRC), for usage of processed steel slag in road making.

· Tata Steel Ltd has been awarded 'Corporate Citizen of the Year' 2013-14 by ET (Economic Times) Awards for Corporate Excellence.
