Melrose Resources PLC21 October 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 21 October 2005 Melrose Resources plc ("the Company") Substantial Shareholder The Company today received notification from Fidelity International Limited andFMR Corp. and their direct and indirect subsidiaries, being non-beneficialholders, that they have an interest in 5,608,647 ordinary shares of 10 penceeach in the Company. This represents an increase in the notifiable interest of345,207 ordinary shares and a holding of 7.14% of the Company's current issuedordinary share capital.
