Akers Biosciences, Inc (AIM:AKR), a leading designer and manufacturer of rapid diagnostic screening and testing products, received notification on 25 November 2009 that Legal & General Group plc, or its subsidiaries ("Legal & General"), purchased 500,000 Common Shares of nil par value in the Company on 24 November 2009. Following this transaction Legal & General's total interest in the Company is 7,300,000 Common Shares, representing approximately 6.4 per cent. of the Company's issued share capital.
