Westminster Group Plc:

New Contract Award- Fever Detection Systems

Westminster Group Plc ('Westminster' or 'the Group'), the AIM listed supplier of system solutions and products to the security, defence, fire protection and safety markets worldwide, announces that it has secured a new contract for the supply of Fever Detection Systems in North Africa.

The contract, valued at approximately $200,000, involves the supply of a number of Westminster's WG520 specialist Fever Detection Systems for public buildings in North Africa and which will be used to screen visitors for flu epidemics so that appropriate action can be taken.

The portable WG520 Fever Detection System identifies persons who may be suffering from common influenza, SARS and other flu variants such as Avian flu, Bird and Swine flu etc. by identifying individuals whose body temperature exceeds a predetermined threshold. The WG520 is suitable for mass screening at airports, ports, stadiums and public buildings.

The WG520 Fever Detection System has advanced features which set it apart from many other systems and includes a special medical housing which enables the units to be used for regular medical screening when not required for epidemic monitoring.

Commenting on the contract award Peter Fowler, Chief Executive of Westminster Group, said:

"This latest contract award from our safety division, which follows recent contract awards for similar equipment from clients around the world including the World Health Organisation, indicates Westminster's ability and market reach not for only security equipment but safety equipment to clients worldwide".
