In light of the guidance issued by the FSA on 9 January 2009 in relation to obligations to disclose security granted over shares, the Company announces that, in 2001, 32,736 Charles Stanley Group Plc ordinary shares of 25 pence each (representing approximately 0.074% of the current issued share capital of the Company) held by Martina Murphy, a PDMR, were pledged to HSBC Bank Plc as security against an overdraft facility.
