Board Change

The Company announces the following board change.

Having worked in the nursing and residential care sector since the early 1990's and after six years service with the Company, Kamma Foulkes, Group Operations Director has decided to step down from the Company with effect from 31 December 2009. At that time she will also resign from the board.  Ray Miles, Chairman commented: "Kamma has made a significant contribution to Southern Cross, particularly over the last 18 months, and we wish her well in the future".

The Company would also like to take this opportunity to announce the non-board appointment of Mark Cash as Regional Director of its southern operations. Mr Cash was previously Operations Director of Sunrise Senior Living having formerly spent 20 years with Esso UK, primarily in their retail business. While making this appointment the Company also announces that, with immediate effect, its Regional Directors will report to the Chief Executive, Jamie Buchan.
