The directors are pleased to announce that David Blackett has been appointed as a non-executive director of R.E.A. Holdings plc with effect from 1 July 2008. After qualifying as a chartered accountant in Scotland, Mr Blackett, who is aged 57, worked for over 25 years in South East Asia where he concluded his career as chairman of AT&T Capital Inc. Prior to joining that company, he was a director of an international merchant bank with responsibility for the bank's South East Asian operations.

Mr Blackett is currently a director South China Holdings Limited, which is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and was formerly a director of Shanghai Chlor-Alkali Chemical Company Limited, which is listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and from which he retired in 2006. There are no further matters to be disclosed pursuant to rule 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules of the Financial Services Authority in relation to Mr Blackett's appointment as a director of R.E.A. Holdings plc.
