Richard, aged 50, has 25 years of management experience in the UK house buildingsector, with his longest tenure being at McCarthy & Stone Developments Ltd,where he spent six years in the Midlands and Dorset, latterly as sales andmarketing director for the company's southern region and being responsible foraround 450 profit completions per annum. He later returned to the group as interim sales & marketing director beforeworking on a project for David Wilson Retirement Homes. He has also worked at Renaissance Retirement, in Dorset, as a Company Directorand before that he was at Wainhomes Southern, in Hampshire and at AlfredMcAlpine Homes East Ltd, in Essex, both as a sales & marketing director. Richard started his career in sales and entered the house building industry in1981 with Maitland Selwyn, after being educated in the Midlands and in Somerset.His interests include sailing, where he is a qualified yacht master withcommercial endorsement (UK) and a qualified instructor (Australia).
